I was actually really surprised they weren't in the game already! To be fair I would love other instruments as well (Saxophone and trumpets for a jazz band, etc) but drums is one of those core things you need for a band. Which my singer sim would love to have. Drums, keyboard, guitar and a singer and let them out into the world!
I really wish that there could be a set of steel drums, too. I love the sound and I'm mesmerized every time that I'm fortunate enough to see a live performance.
One of the best things in the Sims 2 was the ability to ask others to join in on a community lot and play as a band. You soon got to know who didn't have any musical skills, so funny and real fun.
