Vampire traits lost «12...Next Go

Just as a heads up, vampires are losing various traits, notably Odorless, Beyond the Herd, Immortal Pleasures and Dampened Emotions as a result of the 11/7 patch. Tested with and without mods, and going from the home residential lot to other residential and public lots. The traits are able to be reinstated via in-game reconfiguration droughts but will once again be nullified upon reemergence from the loading screen. While the ability panel shows them to be selected their effects are no longer present.

Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated.
Start a new game and test to see if the issue is in that new save game.
Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" or "options" file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder.

1. Tested. Method is ineffective.

2. Many readers of these forums are not computer savvy. There is potential to lose all of your saves, both game files and personal gallery, if you are not careful.

I would recommend that the reader refrain from said advice.

In my game my vampire is losing traits effects too. Same as @OEII100 and also suspect other traits since energy is going down faster after patch. When I enter game it seems ok, but if I go to another lot - social, fun and hygiene bar is not completely filled anymore and also they continue to go down. I tried what you suggested and reset my sims 4 folder and also started a new game/save + repair game but that is not working for me. I don't use mods or CC.

I think if you can grasp the Sims, you can grasp copying and pasting a folder. If you can't, that's worrisome.

Good to have confirmation. Thank you, and hopefully this will be resolved soon.

To me this is a pretty serious bug. Effectively ruins half of vampire gameplay. I hope they plan on rolling out a patch soon for this, otherwise I don't see myself touching this til it's fixed and I can imagine it's similar for some others.

They function normally....until you want to take your vampires somewhere. And if you manage to fix them at the destination it happens yet again when you go back home. Yeah, it is pretty crippling.

This is a bummer, my main save has a vampire mom and teen vamp daughter. I won't be able to go anywhere near it until this is fixed.

No pets for Vlad until this is fixed then. Haven't opened 4 since before the patch so I'm good. Does anyone know if PrincessVees drink and drain mods are ok?

You’re welcome It would be best to go back to where you downloaded the mod from and see if there has been issues posted on the site or an updated version released.

I am very sad because of this bug, I will not play vampires unless the bug been fixed.

Yeah I am also encountering this issue. I only use very little light and dec cc. Also, I have tried repairing my game several times. It does fix the vet charging issue, but this vampire perk function problem and sims frequently canceling their actions while doing t pose problem still exist. As I mainly play vampire families, it makes my game experience worse than ever and almost cancels out my enthusiasm for pets......

For those of you with this bug, are your pre made vampires acting strangely? Since the emergency patch, I had not updated till then, my pre made's have no energy even cheats do not work and Vlad no longer hisses. I had a look in the Vatore household and they are now Grand Master Vampires, Caleb has nearly 400 spare points, Lilith has over 1100 spare points.

The vampires in my game seem to be gaining experience, instead of having there energy filled. I have not seen any other reports about this so wondered if any of you, had noticed any thing strange with your pre made vampires.

All you have to do is when the vampires return home go to manage world don't do any thing but then go back to your active household that will bring the traits back

I just noticed Caleb not using his vampiric run. I was playing my own sim at the time. I loaded his household and although he did still have the ability it wasn't active. Also I'm not sure if Lilith had rank three sun resistance before but she now only has one. I caught her burning.

They can not run in my game ether, I put it down to there lack of energy but after repair number 4, I started another new game and went to there houses to check. Lillith and Calebs Vampire run is not active. Vlads mist form is not active ether. I had also noticed lillith only has 1 point in sun resistance but can not find anything anywhere, on what points they should have.

Lilith having one point of sun resistance is normal, but whether or not it's even active is another question entirely. From the sounds of it every single power can be affected by this with limited exceptions, so she might still be burning faster than usual.
