Help!-Error Code is showing up! «12...Next Go

Hello!

I just downloaded the November 7th game update. I turned on my game, and played on my saved game for a like 20 minutes. I went to try something out in CAS. When I went to go back and play with my sim family, the loading screen came up, but then it went slightly darker, and then this message came up:



I saved, turned the game off, repaired my game, and then restarted my computer.

I turned my game back on, and the same thing happened. What should I do? I tested it on another one of my saved households in the save. The same picture above showed up too! I've got my save file backed up as of last weekend. I use no mods and no cc. My game is running on a MacBook Pro, early 2015 model, using MacOs High Sierra.

Can someone help me? I really don't want to lose my sims!

I am sorry that you are having this issue.
Try going to the main screen of sims 4, and click on the " load game " button.Click on your save game file picture. Then click on the " recover game " button down the right hand side bottom of the screen,. Press on an earlier version of the save game from the menu that pops up. Then load that save game version and see if the issue is occuring when loading the household in that save game version.

Hey @rosemow! I just tried what you recommended. It worked! I had saved before this all happened. Now, I've got a save file named something like "My Saved Game 1 [recovered]". I didn't know I could do that, but now I know just in case there's a next time. Thank you

I wonder if other folks are having the same problem though? I can't be the only one, can I?

I thought it had something to do with messing with the "My Households" tab. My game is telling me that I have too many families in "My Households" and some need to be deleted. However, I am only seeing 5 families. I am trying to split a household and it won't let me until I delete some or raise the number. Once I raised the number, my game started messing up. Any ideas about this.

Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

having same issue. tried to recover save thing. repaired game like 6 times, restarted my computer.... nothing.

Try starting a fresh new save game, play for a little while and see if issues are occurring in that new save game.
Also make a copy of another save game file that you have and place it on external drive or another part of your computer. Then load that save game, and see if there are issues in that save game,

game only shows one save.... i cant get into any other household when i click play. the same error occurs with whatever family i click. it wont let me do anything.

I am sorry that you are having these issues, If you have cc/mods in your game, move your mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and see if the issues are still there

Hey @KristinaRN I was using "Manage Households" too! I was deleting some townies and changing outfits and stuff in "Manage Households" CAS. When I went back to my main household to play, the picture I posted up above showed up after a couple moments of the loading screen. Have you tried reloading one of your previous saves? It seems to have worked for me (I just tried it out, but I had stuff to do so I didn't play after that).

If you have cc/mods in your game, move your mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and see if the issues are still there. If it has helped with the issues, put your mods/ CC back into the newly generated mods folder that is in the sims 4 folder one by one or in batches and testing after each one to see which is the causes of the problem.

Tried that, restarting, uninstall and install Origin and nothing is working. I think it is time to stop and move on to something else. Today is my birthday and I want to stay in a "Good Mood".

Happy birthday !

Try turning off origin in-game and see if that helps. To do that, go,to Game Library in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture. Click on “Game Properties”. Then untick the box that enables origin in-game

Try starting the game in windowed mode and see if that helps to load Sims 4

Are you able to load sims 4 ? If you are, try starting a new save game and see if the issues remain in the new save game.

Good news, I am able to start a new game.

Bad news, I now have to start over with everything. It will take days to recreate what I had in the old game.

I always expect some issues when an update is done. This is the first time I can't access my game and it was perfect.

I would keep the old saves and play with another until this issue can be fixed.
