I had trouble finding a thread to talk about which bugs I’d personally love to get fixed. If there is, point me in the right direction
. There’s two bugs that I need to be fixed before I can ever say I truly love the sims 4. Both of these make me quit the game after playing for too long because I’m not in control.
- When I tell my sims to do something, I expect them to do it. Sometimes I have to tell a sim multiple times to do something. They’ll just ignore me. I swear to the hesvens it drives me nuts. Try to go jogging, no. Try to feed my toddler, no. Toddler gets threatened to be taken away? Still won’t feed them. Goes up the stairs looks at the painting. Go jogging? No.
-The second bug has to be the party issue. I love parties, it’s fun to have friends over but I NEVER do it. Simply because they’re all “brainless” during the party as another user beautifully put it. They will not complete the task or goals. Barely socialize. Just stand around. Ignoring my request. Feed the toddler? No.
There’s more of course, but these two really bother me. Heck, I can deal with the restaurant one. Everyone knows that one. Try to eat and talk to my hubby? NO LETS GO TALK TO JANET ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RESTAURANT! Hahaha
Comments
Probably because... why condense all of the bugs into one thread when this entire forum section is devoted for that purpose exactly?
Maybe I'm just being crazy here, though.
If you have cc/mods in your game, move your mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and see if the issues are still there
Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps with your issues. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" or " options " file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder.
Also, repairing the game may help. To do that, go to games library in Origin, right click on the sims 4 picture and click repair

And thank you @rosemow you’re always helpful
No problem. I'm sure we've all been in a place where we need obvious things pointed out to us.

What I did was use the moveobjects cheat to place the tea sensations display next to the tea maker. Does the cheat cause this to happen?

Hello
The moo cheat can cause game issues. There isn’t much free counter space for your sims to work on either. It would be best to try moving the tea brewer , spice set and tea bags to another place in the kitchen and free up counter space for cooking.

I hope that gets fixed, but I don't think it's a bug that's widespread enough to warrant any particular attention, sadly.
Am I too lost?
Hello
Try doing what I suggested in the earlier post and see if that helps your issues

I love vampires, but they can't autonomously take care of themselves and have other issues. The biggest one is why don't vampires do something about it when they are out in the sun, burning up, with no actions in queue, and the ability to get out of the sun? They will stand around until near death (or even until death). Secondary issues: Why do they autonomously eat food that will make them sick? Why don't they eat plasma fruit on their own, if it's in their inventory? Why can't I give plasma fruit or plasma packs to other sims using the interactions menu like I can give food to other sims from my inventory? How am I supposed to get good ratings on social events that want sims to eat food when I have a bunch of vampires, the plasma fruit salad thing isn't even edible, and I can't share plasma fruit and packs? Why do they get such minuscule amounts of thirst recovery from fruits and packs? (You'd think that better options would at least be available to grand master vampires.) Why do vampires who aren't immune to the sun asking to come over to visit in the middle of the day?
Why doesn't that cooala light, or whatever it's called, actually keep monsters away?
It's insane that a toddler can have more than one nightmare per night and that they will go wake up sleeping children when there are adults awake. It's like they just want to punish any other sleeping sim because they aren't sleeping themselves.
Sims get home from work or school and just stand outside for hours while free will is on (not related to lag/freezing time, they just seem to go into ADHD mode).
Sims wander off the lot and don't return. They go to talk to someone, for example, and never come back until you direct them to do so. It's like they don't know they can reach home from where they are. (Maybe this is the same thing that happens when they get home from work/school?)
Sims who collapse from lack of sleep (pass out) *after* they've gotten into bed.
Sorry, I had to vent

I have that happen even if I didn't use move objects to place the tea maker. Maybe that item is bugged and the game doesn't read that it's taking up space on the counter?
I am sorry that you are experiencing these issues in your game.
It may help to try repairing your game and resetting the Sims 4 folder, and see if it may help with the issues.
To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.
To reset your sims 4 folder, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Test the game between placing back each folder.
With the Cooloola light, some simmers have found that using the default version works the best

The first, most irritating bug is that one of my sims will not change clothing unless told to do so. If I dress him in pajamas and then he takes a shower, he remains in the pajamas as he showers and will not change unless I tell him to.
Equally frustrating is the fact that build mode still has sections highlighted in gold, despite the fact that there are no new items. I even contacted Origin, and they told me the only way to correct these is to lose all my game play. As I am on the fifth generation with my family, and I built them a house that took me hours to build, I can't face the thought of losing all of that. Particularly frustrating as I have never had any mods, so any errors in the game are all from official game updates.
Hello @bufalbef2
With the highlighting of the items, doing the following has helped other simmers with this issue

1. If there's a basketball net on my lot, my sims keep stopping what they are doing to go play. ALL. THE. TIME. The basketball obsession has been real.
2. Sometimes when my sims are sitting down to eat, they kind of do a cannon ball into the floor as if there was a pool? And it makes a splashing noise? And then they come up wearing their bathing suit. Super weird.
I made a report awhile ago.
Hello
I am sorry that you are having these issues.

The second issue is also connected with having a basketball hoop on the lot. It can help if the basketball hoop is removed.
