What makes you think we will get TS5 in 2019? The developers have said Sims 4 is not going to have the same release pattern as previous games.

I doubt it'll be 2019. I think 2020 due to that being the 20th anniversary of The Sims. But I'll be very surprised if Sims 4 continues beyond 2020. All they said is that they'll make content as long as it makes sense to do so. But it will not last forever.

Which must mean that we will get many more SPs, much fewer EPs and several new GPs instead of just a lot of EPs.
Nothing seems to indicate that TS4 will get a longer lifetime than the previous big Sims games:
1. The game has already got a lot of bugs which mostly likely won't be solved like they didn't for TS2 and TS3. EA can get rid of them by moving on instead.
2. TS4 is like the previous games mostly targeted at new young simmers which also is the reason why the developers don't make more advanced building tools, more age groups, bigger worlds and other things that almost everybody in the forum have wanted.
3. MMO games usually have much longer lifetime and are now usually free because they are seen as a live service which live from ingame advertising and very expensive voluntary ingame purchases. But TS4 isn't such a game at all. Sports games instead now usually get a new version even every year while other types of games usually still have the same life times as earlier.
4. The big Sims games have always got a new version after 4 or 5 yrs. Only TS1 was stopped after 4 yrs because TS1 hadn't been planned to really have expansions at all and installing the expansions therefore had become technically difficult.
5. The reason why the Sims games alway have got a new version after at most 5 yrs clearly is that they are mainly targeted at new simmers and much less at older experienced simmers. Therefore they haven't really become more difficult or advanced but only been given a new and different look. Building tools and other things are still primitive such that the game is easy to start with for new inexperienced simmers. But new simmers are less likely to start with a more than 5 yrs old game which already has a huge number of expansions. They need a new basegame such that they can buy the expansions when they are released. Otherwise they aren't likely to buy the game at all unless it becomes very discounted. So EA has always released a new basegame after at most 5 years and nothing points in the direction that EA won't just do the same again because EA is still very interested in getting as high sales numbers as possible

If it takes longer. Well I have plenty of other games to keep me busy.
I always find EP not worth the wait anyway
