Vampires feed from other sims, they do not eat them. At least, not in my game. Never once has Fricassee of Mother-in-Law ever been in the recipe books or on the menu that I could ever notice.

Sim mermaids have to be mammels, because they can procreate with human sims. I like to think, they have gills as well as lungs, just because that would be so convinient.
How do we know "human" sims are mammals? Mammals produce milk & nurse their young.
Sims need a mod to breastfeed. And have you looked at the bottles when they feed the babies? I don't know exactly what that green stuff is, but it sure ain't milk!
