    It's all nonsense I'm afraid, and I would recommend not changing that setting. The default is 20 GB (not 2 GB, count the zeros) and is a theoretical upper limit applied to the program's script heap, not the game's RAM usage. Changing it to 80 GB as in the illustration is not going to make the game run any better and could actually cause (theoretical) problems.

    That post took off like wildfire at the time it was made and became sort of an urban myth/legend unto itself.

    TS3 is a 32-bit application that has been Large Address Aware (LAA) all by itself ever since Patch 1.17 (on Windows anyway, Mac users face a different challenge). It can and will use up to 4 GB (actually 3.7 GB due to some overhead) of RAM if it is available for use with no player intervention needed. The game, unfortunately, can use no more than that and it will crash or Error 12 if it tries to.
