Game lagging/freezing

«13
I've been having issues with my game lagging, and freezing. The freezing can last for a few seconds or even minutes. I'[m even have problems when typing comments on the comment section on someone's page or in the gallery. The last straw now is when I place an object I can't turn it to the position I need. I have no mods, no CC. I've repaired my game several times. Also changed from 64 bit to 32bit. Does anyone have any suggestion? I don't want to uninstall if possible. Also a little afraid of resetting the casche(?). Last time I tried, lost most everything. I'm tech. challenge lol. Thanks in advance.

Does your PC meet the technical requirements?

    Hello
Could you please post your DxDiag info here. It will take multiple posts.
To gather a DXDIAG on your computer, do this :
Press and hold the Windows key and the letter R on your keyboard
You will see a Run box in the lower-left corner of your screen
Type dxdiag in the text field
    Click OK
Click the Save All Information button, found on the bottom of the DXDIAG report
Then copy and paste the information from where you saved it, to here in this thread.

    Hello
It would be good to post your dxdiag information and simmers will be able to check your computer.

There are also a few things to do to try to see if they may help with your issues.

Sometimes having a large amount of items in the sims inventories and household inventory can cause issues. Try removing some of the items from the inventories and see if that helps.

Lower your graphics settings and see if that helps.
Check to make sure that your graphics drivers are up todate

Try turning off origin in-game and see if that helps. To do that, go,to Game Library in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture. Click on “Game Properties”. Then untick the box that enables origin in-game

Try playing in off line mode and see if that helps.

If your sims live in San Myshuno, try moving them to another world

Move the screenshots folder to the desktop and see if that may help.

The more you add to the game , the more demanding the game becomes. Posting your DxdIag would help in determining if your computer meets requirements or maybe something else is going on.

I am having a similar issue with my game, it freezes and when i press pause the timer still counts. When it is time for them to go to work/school they end up being late because the last action they were doing will not cancel. I have only had this computer for 6 months, so there shouldn't be any problems.

My dxdiag info is AMD A8-6500 APU with RADEON (tm) HD graphics. 3.50 GHz, RAM 8.00 (7.18 GB usable) 64 bit operating system x 64-based processor. Windows 10 home.
I seldom play the game, mostly build and do challenges, so nothing in household inventory. I do have quite a bit of builds/downloads in my library.

How do I lower graphic settings and check to see if graphic drivers are up to date? Told you I technically challenged. lol I'm a senior and don't know much about computers.

It would be better to see your actual DxDiag. Is your computer a laptop or desktop? This game requires a mid range gaming desktop with a dedicated graphics card to survive the game as it adds more and more. Laptops are weaker than desktop so you need a more powerful gaming laptop to meet the requirements of desktop.

Your processor is too weak for the game . This game is processor heavy. What dedicated AMD video card do you have or do you only have an integrated card into the processor? Right now from what your telling me your computer may not meet requirements. If you don't want to post your actual DxDiag would be hard to help you or give you further advice.

PS the Dxdiag gives no personal info. It tells me your specific hardware, if your drivers need updating and what I can help you do to try and improve your game

We need to know your computer specs, specific hardware and if it's a laptop or desktop to tell you where you should be updating your drivers. Do you know your make and model computer? That would be somewhat helpful to know your make and model computer

    Hello @redhotangel
Other simmers are also having the same issue when the sims are going to school.. The thread on the AHQ EA site refers to the issue
    http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4-Bug-Reports/OPEN-Game-freezes-when-kids-teens-go-to-school/m-p/5870882#M34546
Some simmers have found that having their sims outside near where they leave for school just before the time has helped with the issue.

If the issue is occurring at other tines also, try doing what I suggested in the earlier post and see if that helps the issue
    https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/comment/15861615/#Comment_15861615

Try also resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" or " options " file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder.

    Hello
Go to the AMD site and type in your graphics card. Then see if there are new drivers to download
    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

The graphics settings can be lowered ingame by pressing the game options button on the top right hand side of the screen in-game. Then click on the graphics section of game options, and you can change settings there.

Do not update anything. Im sorry but I need to see your DxDiag. According to your model it's integrated and does not have an AMD graphics card. I need to see your actual computer https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04100368

@rosemow if they don't want to post their Dxdaig I can not help them further. According to their model computer it does not meet requirements for the game. They can possibly add a dedicated video card. Chester cant even help them with that without a dxdiag. The only thing I can suggest is that @mscosmo take their computer to a computer specialist should they want to add a dedicated video card to continue playing this game. The dedicated video card you add needs to be a modern equivalent of an Nvidia GTX 650 card. The GTX 650 card is no longer made You would also need a new power supply to go with a new added video card

You have to manually save the file to desktop. Windows Key + R key will open your run box in the lower left hand corner of the computer. You type DxDiag in the run box. Hit ok let it load and then save. You can then choose where to save. I usually choose Desktop. If you don't choose where to place it, I think it will save to documents which is the first option.

If op is a senior like they say they may be having difficulty with this task. Unfortunately I can't help them without it. If they are having difficulty understanding how to post a dxdiag, telling them how to upgrade their computer would be an even bigger problem. They should take the computer to a local professional to see about upgrades to meet requirements

It's not a matter of not wanting to post the DxDaig. I either don't know how to find it or how to do it. Not even sure what the DxDaig is. I'm sorry I'm not much help. Thank you all for your help and suggestions. Will see about getting a video card or finding a computer person to help me.

You then open the text file you saved and you can upload it to pastebin https://pastebin.com/ than post a link to your pastebin here.

If this is difficult to understand than I suggest seeing a computer professional about upgrading to add a dedicated video card equal to the Nvidia GTX 650 card and a new power supply to go with that new card. You have a very low 300 watt power supply in your computer right now. You need at least a 500 watt power supply.
