The Sims 4: Spa Day - Hand Massage Animation Not Working Properly

Hi everyone!

I just thought I'd reach out and see if anyone else has this issue.

This year I've noticed that the hand massage animation is borked in my game. I figured I'd wait to bring it up, because I figured if it was happening in my game, then it must certainly be happening in other's games as well. Well, I was wrong. I reached out to a few friends to see if it was working or not in their games, and all of them have told me that the animation works just fine in their game. So, after learning that, I uninstalled and re-installed the game. I removed all saves, CC and mods prior to starting the game up - so there's no additional content in the game that was not made by Maxis. I chose a random family and tried the massage again. The issue is still there.

I even made a video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS2Vh1w1dtU that shows the messed up animation. In the video you will see that I tried using sims in the household and then I even tried the professional NPC - same messed up animation.

Anyone have any insight on this? Maybe there's something I'm doing wrong?

Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

Its messed up in my game too. Havent tried it in a new save w/no mods but will try that and see if its still there. I never have my sims give hand massages until last night i did and saw how weird it looked ill try a fresh game and see what happens

I repaired my game, then reset my sims 4 folder (no cc no mods) and created a household of 4 sims. 2 guys and 2 girls. Placed them on an empty lot with two massage chairs and the problem is still there.
I had them offer and ask for hand massages both from the chair and from the social menu and it was messed up every time.
They will massage the first hand just fine, but its the second hand thats glitchy. The animations of the sim getting the massage and the animations of the sim giving the massage are not synced up.
So i guess this is a bug. Wonder how many other ppl have it? Its odd i havent seen it mentioned on here before.


ETA: i noticed that most times if you have SimA offer a hand massage to SimB, SimA will sit down in the chair before offering the hand massage, making it impossible for SimB to sit down and receive the hand massage.
Hope that made sense.
What im basically saying is one sim will sit down in the massage chair first, which makes the other sim cancel the action because they cannot sit down to get their hand massaged.

Hi there! Thank you for contributing to the thread as well. I'm sorry to hear that this bug is occurring in your game as well. It's funny, because I do believe that there are several users whose games affected by this bug - as shown in the EA thread. I just think that some people are 'luckier' than others lol.

And you're absolutely right with the second part. That bug is in my game as well. I surely hope that Maxis addresses these issues ASAP. I would like to enjoy this feature of Spa Day again. ☺

This bug is a year old and affects everyone. Unfortunately there seems to be no workaround.

Ooh I had no idea it was that old. I just remember it working okay sometime last year, but something happened between now and then lol. I really hope that it is fixed, because it's a big part of Spa Day.

This bug had been fixed with the patch that came before the latest patch, but it´s already broken again. So sad. I hope they will remember to fix it again for the next patch.

The issue may be fixed in the upcoming pre-ep patch .

Yeah, this is an issue for me too, first thought it was being caused by an out of date mod, nope, It still happened and when i saw it, it was kinda funny, now its not. I hope this is fixed soon.
