Sorry It's long, but you can just read each subtitle next to each number.

I would like sims 5 to be on a new game engine that can actually support the content.

The focus on TS2 was ageing, TS3 was open world, TS4 was emotions. I would like TS5 to be consequences. Let me explain.

The game is too easy, there is no story progression, and there is no difference between each sim (their traits mean nothing, and the game play is just the same with each family. It doesn't really matter what I do, there are no consequences).
I'm fine if there are cheats for gamers if they want to make it easy. But challenging gameplay is what makes it engaging. Without any challenge you can't really even call it a game.

    1. Traits should make sims unique, and shape them, their decisions and possible actions. Not just boost a skill or take an 'evil shower'. Three traits are all you need to start with (Traits can develop - See number 14).

    2. Relationships and family tree - Better system. 1. Not everyone gets along, and if you intentionally get on someone's nerves, unless they have the 'good' trait, they are probably not going to be super nice to you and want to make up after. But if they are family, or you have a history of friendship, then a sim may want to make up if you have had a fight.

    3. Behaviours and decisions should have health risks.
    - E.g. "Working hard" all the time, not sleeping enough (or being exhausted all the time), eating unhealthy, being stressed, doing dirty things, not keeping hygiene, being obese is going to make you sick. Eating off food or poor quality might give you food poisoning for 24 hours.
    - Sims should get the flu, not want to get out of bed, feel like lying down, throw up, get itchy rashes, get a stomachache, headache.
    - Sims should need to go to a doctor to get diagnosed, and sometimes receive medication.
    - Some medication could have side effects, like drowsiness, redness, itching etc. Maybe the doctor will tell you to take a day off and rest (don't do strenuous things).
    - Sims that are sick are not going to be able to work at their job as well, they won't be able to work out for as long and won't get the most out of their workout. Eating some foods may make them nauseous and throw up, they may tire easier. They may not be as focused on a task, or do as well at a skill that they normally would.
    - Close interactions such as kissing, hugging, or cooking food for other sims whilst you have some illnesses may spread the illness.
    - Healthier Sims who are not as stressed, sleep, eat and exercise will be less likely to get ill, even from other sick sims.

    4. More complex school and work systems:
    - And what you do in school and work and the decisions you make may make it easier or harder to get a job.
    - Career: You would need to do an interview and impress the boss to get the job.
    - School: What matters are grades, volunteering, part time work, great science projects, detentions, which would improve or impair your resume for the future which will help get a job, and maybe start at level 3 for some jobs.
    - School homework will vary depending if public or private school and age. But Primary students would need to read a certain amount each night, and fill out a homework book. Preteens would start to have projects to do/make, Teenagers would also need to do pair/group projects.
    - Preteen/teenager sims that do really well in school (joining clubs and doing extra credit) will be offered a scholarship for private school for the rest of their school time (as long as they keep up their grades that is). (And scholarship for university too in the EP).
    - Open ended jobs are complex and engaging.

    5. Bills more complex: Therefore bills can be really expensive for rich sims but still affordable most of the time for poorer families.
    - Loan/mortgage,
    - School fees (private schools),
    - Water/electricity (depends how much you use each),
    - Insurance (death, life, health, theft, fire - Sims can choose whether or not to get them).
    - If you rent out another property you may need to pay to fix things and for their electricity/water bills as well.
    - University fees and debt (University expansion),
    - Taxes (Top of politics career can change tax rate on citizens (with consequences of corse).

    - How poorer families could save money:
    - Live in a place where don't need a loan/mortgage
    - Public school,
    - Don't use much electricity (e.g. tv, computers, stereo, etc), don't take baths, have short showers, don't own a pool, don't water the garden too much, buy a water tank.

    6. Limited CAS clothing options (must earn and buy in a clothes store)

    7. Buying your groceries at a store.

    8. Going to the hairdressers for a haircut, piercings, tattoos.

    9. Laundry in the base game. (Clothes can run out if you don’t have enough and don’t wash them).

    10. Have somewhere to put your money when families get rich:
    - become an investor in Sims ideas, games, etc.
    - Buy property, renovate and create houses to sell on the market via auctions. (buy advertisements to attract Sims to the Auction. Hold open for inspection days (where you can convince Sims to become interested or to make an offer (This is where Charisma skill would come in handy) - You may not always get the price that makes you break even. (Read the newspaper to see if property market is good or bad for selling buying).
    - Become business owners (which will them allow you to edit the lot).
    - Be able to split how every much of your finances you want, when Sims move out.
    - Donate/fund/start a charity (Can make advertisements, put adds in mailboxes, go door knocking to ask for donations, hold fundraiser events).
    - Have expensive parties (Hiring waiters, bartenders, clowns, band, entertainer, ice sculptures, chef and expensive buffets)
    - Take a spa day
    - Go on extravagant holidays (EP)

    11. Parenting style:
    - Parenting style and behaviour may affect the trait options for your growing children.
    - Things that may affect future trait options and mood/attitude (e.g. more rebellious, moody, defiant children) - Social neglect, continual and unfair punishments, or not showing love (through interactions, and touch (e.g. hugging your child, praising, telling them you are proud, snuggling with your baby) or care to your children (E.g. Teenager that goes to a late party without parents knowing, and parents don't mention anything to the child. The teenager may feel the parents don't care about them). Of course the usually bringing up toddlers skills would be important as well.
    - Parenting style will affect how easily Sims will make relationships and get close to sims.

    12. Different things you do provides sims with different actions, opportunities, challenges in life.

    13. Extreme Fears:
    - Sims can develop extreme fears to things, from traumatic or negative experiences in toddler years or childhood.
    - Extreme fears that come from negative experiences will be linked to certain traits.

    - Extreme fear from negative traits:
    1. e.g. Cowardly Sims can develop an Extreme fear to dolls or clowns from seeing a clown at a birthday party or if their sibling scares them multiple times with dolls, or clown faces.
    2. e.g. Neat Sims can develop extreme fear of bugs if lived in a house infested with bugs when young.

    - Extreme Fears from traumatic experiences:
    1. Dogs/cats (Dog/cat attack/bite),
    2. lighting/storms (If lighting burnt a tree, or started a fire),
    3. fire - Terrified of candles/birthday candles, fireplaces, fire (From house fire),
    4. Fear of death (if saw a person die),
    5. Water/swimming - pools/ocean, won't like to fish because near water, or take a bath, or view a fountain or pond, (From almost drowning or seeing someone drown).

    - Sims who come in contact with fears when they are older will have a Extreme fear moodlet and will want to run away. It will effect their mood for some time.
    - If you want to get rid of a fear, sims attend a Psychologist (e.g. 2 sessions in a week) (It can be a rabbit hole).
    - The wants and fears from TS2 will need to come back for fears to work

    14. Hidden traits/interests: Additional traits developed from life experiences. Must be a lot of exposure regularly for these traits to develop.
    1. Hates outdoors/loves outdoors (if you have a lot of indoor or outdoor experience as a toddler/child)
    2. Commitment issues (parental style)
    3. Loner (for making no friends as a toddler/child (Family don't count)).
    4. Bookworm (For reading a lot/being read to a lot)
    5. Ambitious (From seeing successful ambitious/hard working parents)
    6. Brave/cowardly/looser (Winning/loosing fights, parental style, positive/negative life experiences)
    7. Technosavy (For fiddling, exploring, playing with electronics).
    8. Athletic/Couch potato (For doing/not doing active games/sports/walking/running/climbing as a child)
    9. Frugal (for growing up in a poor home).
    10. Neat/slob (From growing up in very clean/dirty home)
    11. Natural cook (Growing up reading cook books, baking with friends/parent, watching cooking shows)
    12. Virtuous (Growing up listening/playing/singing/dancing to music including live, or on the stereo)
    13. Artistic (Surrounded by artwork, draw/paint a lot. (Can do as a toddler/child on a crafts table, and can draw as a child at any time)

It all sounds very complex, but 1, you could get around a lot of it with cheats, and 2 it wouldn't be confusing or difficult gameplay, it would just create a world where behaviours and decisions have consequences and will shape Sims lives. So no family you make will ever be exactly the same as the last.

What do you guys think? Too out of the box, or away from sims? Silly/snarky stuff could be added too.

This idea just randomly came to me, but if a sim has more siblings of one gender then the other, they may pick up behavior from their opposite sex siblings.
Okay, so that doesn't make sense, but like this:

Lets say a household of children with 3 girls and 1 boy. The girls are always getting the boy to dress up as a princess or a fairy, making them play dolls, etc. And vise versa.

This may actually turn the sims into tomboys/tomgirls, if the behavior persists into teenagehood. In toddler/childhood, it's just mindless fun.

    How about branching skills?

    Such as choosing between improving:

    - Strength or Stamina at later stages of Fitness Training,
    - Science or Deduction at Logic,
    - Botanics or Landscaping at Gardening
    - etc.

Or specialising in specific categories of crafts, such as Paintings with a decor or emotion boost, or Writings that boost either Fun or skill building.

I think that, combined with Traits that are as in-depth, we would encourage growing Sims that are largely different to each other, each allowing the player to access different Careers, options, or paths to explore within the in-game world.

    ===

I like Ari's idea for limited clothing options at the start of the game. We could later buy more clothing items (which we could layer, as it was suggested earlier), or even craft them from stuff we find! I think that it would be pretty satisfying for the player to get a Sim to wear a diamond-laden platinum crown they had crafted themselves! Or sent it to a local blacksmith, though of course the Sim in question could be a more competent one, had they been led to specialise in a specific branch of crafting.

I miss turn ons and turn offs and more traits like in Sims 3! Don't really care for the color wheel, but I want open world back. I'd also like to be able to build hotels and apartments from scratch. I hate how in City Living you can hardly edit anything! You're stuck with the prebuilt apartment homes

I definitely want more traits and turn ons/offs.

Also, what exactly is "open world"? Is it, like, a world with more neighborhoods or something?

Sims 3 had open world where can go anywhere in the neighborhood without the dreadful loading screens, I miss it! I keep trying to play Sims 3 on my iMac, but Sims 3 can only handle 2GB at a time on Macs. It's always crashing, I gave up

So, as I am having a moment of inspiration, I guess I could build on suggestions posted earlier.

I'd like to refer to Ari's post again, for it's so awesomely elaborate it gives me plenty to work with.

    - Touching on the point No. 3 (consequences of illness, stress, etc.):

It is still to be determined how will the negative (and of course positive) statuses would be represented. I like moodlets, for these are well manageable, but you guys might have a better ideas. Mind you, if we are to remain faithful to the existing mechanics, particularly TS4's Satisfaction Points, these could be easily circumvented with a specific reward (say

Sort of defeats the point of such an elaborate mechanic

Thanks for all of your ideas, I love them, I would have high minimum specs for the game and even higher Recommended specs, if you want to play on computers that are very low end, well, sorry you won't be able to.

You know how CAP has a paint feature? Well, we should get something like that in TS5, but to make birthmarks.

Hello! A major think I would LOVE to see change about the sims is the game play style. I want a world like GTA. I want a game mode that allows me to physically control my sim and make it get in and out of its car and drive to the store and physically buy groceries and go home and take care of my toddler. Not just point and click. I want to move my sim. I think this would make the game so much more immersive. This is definitely what they should've done with ts4 on Xbox one. The same thing they did with the sims 2 on game cube and Nintendo. You control your character, you walk him or her into the kitchen to make dinner and you physically drive your car. This just sounds like so much fun to me. This has always been my dream game.

Hmm, I disagree with your idea, but could see how it would be fun. I would like a pack where with certain situations you have the option to play like you said, maybe an adventures pack or something, maybe the cut scenes can be done like this also.

To be honest I wouldn't mind investing in a super computer just to play the game with all the features you came up with, it's exactly the game I've always wanted, so it's worth it lol. Anyway here are some of my ideas:

    Create A Sim:

    - Manage the level of relationship between household members in CAS, because let's face it, it's a bit weird making a married couple and when you start the game with them their relationship bar is only halfway full, even though they love each other.
    - Selecting a natural hair colour for your sim, so for example if they have blue hair and get pregnant, their baby won't inherit the unnatural colours and instead inherit what you set as the natural hair colour.
    - More realistic traits that have a larger impact on the sim's life. Maybe it's just my opinion, but sims seem to be too perfect to seem human. Even if you give them flawed traits, the effects are still innocent and mostly nonexistent. The only trait I can remember that did this right was the Loner trait in Sims 3, that caused your sim to be extremely uncomfortable when they're surrounded by lots of people.
    - Choosing sexuality for your sim in CAS, so they'll accurately accept or deny flirtations from other sims.
    - Speaking of sexuality, adding "ideal type" for your sim would also be fun, just to make sure they don't decide to hook up with any random sim they find. I really liked the feature in Sims 3 Seasons where if your sim was near an attractive sim they'd get a "let's get to know each other" message, but because sims don't have specific preferences, they just found anyone around them to be hot. So maybe readding that feature and tweaking it a bit could be fun.
    - Giving sims genetic diseases/disabilities to make them more unique and realistic, and the gameplay with that sim highly depends on that disease/disability, just a few examples:
    * Deaf/mute sims - communicate in simlish sign language, deaf sims in particular can't be bothered by loud noises. Sign language could be a skill that can be picked up by none deaf/mute sims, and as long as another sim doesn't know sign language, they will communicate with the deaf sims using a notepad or something. I know it sounds a bit complicated, but it adds character.
    * Mobility impairments - sims that suffer from it use a wheelchair instead of walking, simple as that.
    * Blind sims - name says it all. Bonus: if you have a pets expension pack, blind sims can even adopt a guide dog, and regular sims can choose to foster a puppy in training to be a guide dog if they don't want to own a dog for too long.
    * Diabetes, anemia, epilepsy, asthma etcetera - those sims need to take certain medications and avoid things that could harm them. For example, epileptic sims shouldn't go to night clubs or drink too much alcoholic beverages, otherwise they'd get a seizure and another sim nearby will have to call an ambulance or treat them themselves.

    Pack Ideas:

    - Olympics or sport themed pack, that gives more athletic career options and skills, and adds competitions, grand championships and such. Then at certain times there would be a Sims themed olympics event that isn't a rabbit hole if possible, you can get to watch your sim compete against their opponents. Making a giant auditorium with thousands of npc sims in the crowd is obviously impossible, so maybe just make it an illusion like the fake crowd in Showtime.
    - Fantasy world you can go in and out of (kinda like Into The Future). Personally I like my game to be as realistic as possible, which is why I never bought Supernatural, but having a pack that lets you choose every gaming session if you'd like to play realistically or not would be cool. In the fantasy world there are mythical creatures like the pack you suggested above, and you can choose to turn your sim into a mythical humanoid whenever they enter the fantasy world (IE in the normal world your sim is a regular human, but when they enter the fantasy world they turn into an elf or a fairy, etc).
    - Medieval world where the gameplay is exactly the same as it would normally be, only it's set in a medieval world (no Sims Medieval bs). If your household is rich enough, you can own castles or even become the ruler of the kingdom and start a royal legacy. You can also choose to be a knight, farmer, servant, etc.
    - a sort of mixture of World Adventures & Uncharted type of pack, you can go to exotic locations and search for hidden treasure or explore deep rain forests, but there's a bigger emphasis on survival in the wild and cultural themes.
    - Into the Past: Into the Future, but in reverse! Live like a caveman and exist amongside prehistoric creatures (and try not to get killed by killer t-rexes). Would be even cooler if you could choose a specific prehistoric period to go to, ie either going to jurassic times or ice age times, and the animals, enviourment and climate are different in each period.

    Might add some more later, lol ^^;

    > 4. Build up to 6 floors up and 2 floors down.
    > 5. Build Garages
    > 6. Build Decks and Foundations

Older Sims and Younger Children are more susceptible to Sickness, which can cause more issues.

Also, use Hempcrete and other sustainable materials to create a cooler house in summer and Warmer House in winter to cut bills.

What I would like is a combination of the open world with Sims 4 and 3. So a town is cut up into neighbourhoods, but all the lots are available in that section without having to load them separately. Sims 3 got unbelievably glitchy with the massive open world, especially when you got the other worlds such as university interacting within as well.

You mean that you get a loading screen traveling to a different neighborhood, but you get no loading screen going to a house in the same neighborhood? If so, then i agree.

In principal I would partly agree, however, the neighbourhoods must be larger then they are now, for example, we need at least 10 lots in each, and we also need at least 8 neighbourhoods in most worlds

All they money they didn't put twords sims 4, and all the money they make off of it i think will probably go to the sims 5, so i'm kinda hoping that sims 5 puts sims 4 in the dust, because sims 4 is an good game, but i would either like to see sims 5 or better content added to ts4, but yeah they need to bring back the cas and caw from TS3 and the past games.
