Data Carrier Type - huh? & Which Laptop?

POLLYANNA2POLLYANNA2 Posts: 172 Member
Hi all,

I'm looking for some guidance. I am currently looking at a new gaming laptop and looking at dual ssd & hdd drive. Can anyone tell me what the "Data Carrier Type" is and whether I want it to be the ssd or the hdd?

These five laptop are currently in my top five if anyone would like to weigh in. I am trying to decide if the bigger screen is worth it - but if any are unsuitable please let me know!

Custom laptops are always best where you pick out all the hardware you want and all hardware is certified unlike buying something off the shelf that is mass produced. . HP and Acer could be over priced for the specs they give you and they do make better gaming laptops out there if you buy off the shelf. Asus ROG or MSI would be better choices

Are you buying now? There is not point in asking unless your buying now. Priced change, they are always coming out with new hardware. What is available now may not be available when your ready to buy.

If your buying now what is your budget and country?

I am looking at buying now- in Switzerland. I looked at custom but worry my knowledge wasn't deep enough when they were giving me so many options. My budget is flexible - but probably no more than 1500 Swiss Francs. The main thing for me is I get a laptop that is exactly right for playing the Sims 4 and Sims 3 on pretty high settings.

Switzerland is tricky - because import taxes can be very high - some something that looks cheaper from England or Germany is actually more expenses once you pay taxes. My budget is inclusive of delivery, if it needs to be shipped

Can I ask why this has been moved to the "Off Topic" chat from Technical Discussion? I am asking for assistance with a technical decision regarding the Sims?

The mods will move it to off topic. :/ I would suggest just closing your other post in tech. They will see it as spam if you keep making new posts.

In Switzerland it's a little harder finding computers. @chesterbigbird has better luck with finding computers in Europe. She will be on the forum later
