Expansion pack installation order.

Hello. It's me again. I have a question. Do I have to install the EP's according to release date, or in no order at all, because when I had the games installed, it told me that the version of the sims 3 is more recent than the expansion pack, and the game may not recognize Generations. I bought Generations from eBay. I uninstalled all of my games. So which is it? Installing it according to release date or no order at all?

With Sims 3 you don't need to install them in order. After the last patch, you can have them all installed, but only check the ones you want to play.

So then I didn't even have to uninstall every expansion pack? Plum! Why did I even uninstall everything in the first place?

There was a time when (allegedly) the install order did matter and that more recent version warning actually meant something. But all of that changed after Ambitions was released, or one of those earlier ones, and EA changed its entire patch structure around. The warning can be ignored.
