Okay, Firefox has just recently disabled all support for the Javascript plugin which is required to click on the Insightful, Like, or Awesome links in posts. Does anyone know if there are plans to change the Java requirement for this in the future?

Java and Javascript are two totally different things that unfortunately share similar names. Javascript is built into browsers and can only be deactivated by digging far into their preferences; there is/was no Javascript plugin except for the special kinds that help designers write scripted web pages. Without Javascript, probably over 80% of the web as we know it today won't work, that's not what Mozilla (Firefox) did here.
It's the Java plugin and a whole bunch of others that are disabled because allegedly FF doesn't need them anymore as most of their functions are already built into the newer versions of the browser. I've been using the versions that disabled these casually for a few weeks now and have not run into any issues on any websites that formerly required them, including this forum. I'm sure a bank site or something else a bit slow to keep up will cause an issue someday, but that's why it's a good idea to have an extra browser standing by (even if it's IE/Edge for Windows or Safari for Mac, but there's also always Chrome) for when this happens.
In case anyone wants a more technical overview of the differences:

I had this problem for almost a week, but I have solved the problem by reinstalling Google Chrome. Try to use another browser.
