Excessive water drinking or drink mixing is disrupting gameplay

Two days ago my vampire household was rather balanced about their activity. But since yesterday they started to drink water again. Worse than before. I just left the game because it dominated most of their activities. No sink was safe. With two bathrooms, a kitchen and a sink on a balcony they were constantly running to the one sink that was just available while the others were parked with one vampire sim that needed water so desperately.
I noticed that they were nearly as addicted to mixing and drinking drinks which led me to block the access to the bar. I just removed the blockade and guess what happened?! Its like the sinks didnt exist anylonger. They went right to the bar, constantly a sim behind it mixing drinks for them or the one sitting infront of the bar. It got annoying because it also dominated their activities. It was nice to see the sitting sims engaging in good conversations.
Another test. I blocked the access to the bar again. One minute later they all had a glas of water in their hand.

Im going back into the game and remove the sink in the kitchen (which looks stupid in my awesome house), on the balcony, from both bathrooms and place sinks in the kid´s rooms where the adults cant enter. Hopefully this will change the outcome of this war.

You did notice that the bug report was created 04-05-2015 ?? It seems reporting this bug doesnt have much effect considering its been 2 years without a fix and even the modding community gave up modding fixes.

On the thread at the end of February this year, SimGuruNick was asking for save game files of simmers that are having this issue. You may like to share your save game file with him.
When you post feedback there, it shows the Develpers that simmers are still having this issue.

This little experience with transmitting savegames, making sure I get the right savegame, checking savegame ingame made me realize that the sims act more unpredictable than the devs probably anticipated. Without crashing the game

I have a follow up question for you, @SimGuruNick. Why not just disable the ability for sims to get water from sinks? Is there a downside to this? If not, wouldnt this solve this issue once and for all?

I have the same problem, mostly it doesn't bother me (except for the fact that their bladder goes down quicker) and I really don't understand why vampire's need to do it. But if you live in an apartment whenever another sim comes by they will get a water set it down, then do it again over and over until they leave, lol.

Is this even a bug? my sims think it's better to mix a drink before being manually asked to feed their toddler.

The mixing drink bug needs to be fixed it's not fun playing ab alcoholic mother of 37 children and counting.

I think this is due to lack of vampire code. They automatically drink plasma packs but not the plasma packs made from fish or plasma fruits. Once the packs are gone from the inventory, they starve until they turn on their dark form and with 100% guarantee drink from any townie during day. Usually this fails during the day.
Vampires just need a fix so they drink plasma fruit and self made plasma packs when its in their inventory. Or they could cook plasma salad if they know it and have plasma fruit in their inventory.

I have to question the devs competence because these things are no brainers. But fixing things is hard, new bugged content is easy.

If you move one Sim out of and then back into that family through Manage World, it will tone down that Sims drinking for a little while. The longer you play a household the worse the water war gets. But new households added to a save will be fine for a while. I haven't tried moving the whole family yet.

Nope. Nowhere to be found in the mod. Or maybe you can tell us the way to that option in your game because I dont see this option in my newest version nor the version Ive had until a few days ago.

Now I know why I didnt find certain options. There is no simple instruction that says "you can find all settings when you use a computer ingame rather than just clicking on sims"... Now I found it. Maybe I reinstalle my sinks and reopen the bar.

You bet I am. This game is unplayable without mods. But MC command alone helped me to get rid of three other mods. Now I use one instead of four and I got rid of two bugs. I wish I wouldnt need mods but sometimes things dont go as we wish.

I had to remove MCC for now and my sims are addicted to drinking water and mixing drinks again. This has been reported for several times. The AHQ Thread is 8 pages long by now. Why are sims able to grab water from fridges and sinks like this without some sort of cooldown?

Simmers have posted that the June patch has helped with the issue in some ways. SimQARobo was asking for save files last month so the issue may be better with the next upcoming patch also.
