So the Best of 2010 collection is on the Daily Deal as of now... I went to go check what the regular price was (as I often do with MMAO) and was pleasantly surprised by what I saw.
I owned 50 percent of the set and had a 'download', rather than 'purchase' option. So it looks like that particular cascade gave me the rest of the set. I know not all cascades work that way, but I'm definitely not complaining and just wanted to pass this along to everyone else who may have bits and pieces of the set laying around.

It is always worth checking your CYS whenever you get something in a set or a set you're collecting appears on the DD. The important thing is to ignore the % owned. Getting the free download button is based on the value of the items in the set that you own, not on the number, or percentage, of items - so it is very possible as you have seen to get a download button on quite low percentages owned.
For anyone not familiar with how to really get the best deals from the Store do check out the Dail Deal thread: http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/866448/daily-deal-dd-rotation-and-sales-help-continuation-of-september-list - really the friendliest and most helpful thread for anyone who enjoys TS3 and getting the best deals.
For more specific information on the best 'cascades' (where getting one item or set can cause more sets to become very cheap and/or free) take a look at http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/809797/cascades-daily-deals-getting-the-best-bang-for-your-sp
