Tara finally celebrated her birthday, she's been looking forward to this for so long. She had a party with lots of friends at one of the clubs in San Myshuno.
Sara was there too of course, but Tara didn't want to lie to her any longer. So while the others were inside dancing, she took Sara outside to break up with her.
Of course Sara was furious when she heard the reason she was now being dumped. So she hadn't been super happy in the relationship lately, but that didn't make her less hurt.
She left the party immediately after that.
Sara wasn't sure if she felt like continuing the party either, but when she got inside to the others the atmosphere was so nice and cheerful.
Plus Kimi was there, who she can finally have an official relationship with now.
From this point on, Vetle spends more and more time with Mariana. She refuses most of his attempts at physical contact and is voicing her opinion about his work very clearly. But still, at some point Vetle practically lives in her house.
Mariana's mother, Sheryl (a sim made by Andrew Arcade), is not very happy with the arrangement. She's known Vetle since he was a boy who got her daughter into all kinds of trouble. But Mariana is used to defending Vetle against her mother, even though she agrees with most of what she has to say about him.
Vetle absolutely loves their spacious beach house.
As Vetle and Mariana are taking a walk around the island one night, they decide to stop by his cabin for a little bit.
They've had a long and good talk about their feelings, and Vetle promises Mariana that he is intending to find more honest work. She wants to believe him so bad.
If she's foolish to believe him is hard to say at this point, but she's definitely taking a risk by finally giving in.
Vetle is ecstatic, he's been waiting for this moment for so long. Mariana looks a bit more skeptical still.
But she's made up her mind now. This is what she wants. If she's making a mistake, so be it.
The next time Vetle goes to visit Mariana, Sheryl is ready by the door and refuses to let him inside. She knows what's going on and is furious.
They have a long argument, and Vetle tries to be reasonable at first. But he can't control his temper, and he ends up being horribly threatening towards Sheryl.
There's nothing she can do when he decides to be a brute to get his way.
Mariana knows nothing about his awful behavior towards her mother, and Sheryl doesn't dare to say anything.
She is childish, good and a genius. So she loves to play all kinds of games, but especially logic ones. She doesn't have a job right now, but she's planning on getting into business or maybe comedy. Most of all she wants a big family.
She has an older brother, Tarek. They are good friends and spend a lot of time together.
Tarek also gets along well with Vetle, so he approves the relationship.
Vetle as been in a relationship with Mariana for a while now, and officially moved into her house. Things are going well, although he still works as a criminal.
Then one day, he receives a text from Billie Jang who he had a fling with in the past. She says she's just given birth to a baby boy named Jerry. Vetle hopes it's some kind of joke to scare him, but he hurries over to her apartment in San Myshuno.
But it's not a joke. Billie has given birth to his son. At first, Vetle is terrified and ashamed of himself.
Then he gets angry at Billie. This could ruin his life, he could lose Mariana.
But Billie keeps calm and says she'll let him have some alone time with the baby.
Lifting Jerry up and looking into his little face totally changes everything for Vetle.
He is a father! He has a beautiful baby boy.
He and Billie part as friends, and she agrees to keep the identity of the father a secret. He promises he'll help out if she ever needs it.
Even though his relationship with Billie happened before he met Mariana, he's not sure if he should tell his girlfriend about this. He's so scared of losing her.
Vetle hasn't told Mariana yet, but he's decided on something else. In a kind of desperate attempt to secure himself in case Mariana learns about his secret son, he wants to propose to her as soon as possible. Their afternoon at the beautiful art gallery in San Myshuno seems like a good opportunity.
What a night.
She says yes!
There are so many potential bumps in the road for this marriage before it has even started. I don't think I ever had a sim couple who started out more dramatic than this.
If I get any regular readers eventually, it would be fun to hear which of the families you enjoy the most.
As for the family, they are all happy and busy. Jenna still adores Albert, so she is his favorite cousin. She has been taking him to the local library and helping him meet some friends.
His best friend is Pri Yun-Holiday, a funny and smart girl who likes to come over to play with his science table.
The girls are often busy with their boyfriends.
But they have time for some family events as well. Here their mother has joined the family (with the exception of Mahatma, who was working) for dinner at an outdoor bistro.
With their different work hours it's not easy for Nita and Mahatma to find time for affection. But they try their best.
Friday was Mahatma's birthday. He had Mariko over until the kids were done with school, then she disappeared as usual. How are you ever going to get yourself out of this toxic pattern, man?
That evening, they celebrated his birthday his lots of guests. The twins' mom were there (on the far right), as well as Albert's and the twins's uncle and their cousin Adrianna (on the far left).
The next morning, Nita and Mahatma had just had a small argument before coming to breakfast, and the atmosphere between them was like solid ice.
So Albert did what he usually does when his parents are arguing, he ran off to hang out with Pri. They spent a couple of hours at the library, and Pri managed to get him in a better mood.
So eventually they both went to the park to meet up with Albert's parents, who were now completely over their little disagreement.
They spent the whole Saturday afternoon there, and had a great family time. The twins were off playing basketball with friends somewhere.
Albert woke up early Sunday morning from a bad nightmare. He was convinced there was a monster living under his bed.
So he woke up both his parents, who were a little bit annoyed. But they still felt bad about arguing the day before, knowing how sensitive Albert is to that. So they agreed to come have breakfast with him and laugh at his monster impersonations.
They spent the day at home, Albert mostly in his pj's bossing his parents around.
But Karla Mai took off in the afternoon to have dinner with Bryan, who she's now more seriously involved with than ever. They're planning to move in together when they're done with high school.
Nita took some relaxing alone time Sunday evening after a long family weekend.
She loves spending time with her family, but she needs her yoga, her quiet writing time and her nature jogs.
Albert encountered the monster under the bed again, but he didn't feel scared of it anymore. He had a long conversation with it when he was supposed to have gone to bed.
But his new imaginary monster friend made him too excited to sleep, so he stayed up a while longer and did some monster drawings.
Some time passed, and it was Nitas' turn to become an adult. She celebrated her birthday at a casual restaurant in an old factory in Willow Creek.
Her husband wasn't there from the beginning because of work, but everyone else in the family was. As you can see, Jenna has changed her hair color from white to red.
Nita kept the table all afternoon, and it the guests gradually changed from family to friends throughout the evening. Nita's closest girlfriends came, and Mahatma arrived along with his brother and... Mariko.
Nita has met her before, and is aware of her as a co-worker and friend of her husband. But this evening she started to get suspicious about the way they interacted with each other, and she couldn't hide her suspicion.
Mahatma reacted very defensive to Nitas' accusing tone, and Mariko just pretended she didn't understand what they were actually arguing about.
They were not on great terms when they went home that night.
Oh dear. And Nita doesn't even know everything yet.
Nita had a horrible feeling the next morning. Her husband had completely denied being romantically involved with Mariko, but Nita couldn't accept his explanation. She felt like she needed some time to think, so she decided to take a vacation for once.
Granite Falls is the perfect place to escape from Mahatma. Nita loves the outdoors, but he is squeamish and hates camping. She took Albert with her and also Jenna, who loves the outdoors as well and is close to Albert.
Jenna had a hard time trying to get Nita in a better mood, and she eventually decided to leave her alone for a while and take Albert fishing.

And suddenly, Tara didn't doubt her feelings any longer.
And then it happened.
They realized it was a bit risky to be making out in public, so they ran over to the observatory to get some privacy.
No one will see us here.
There is no turning back now, I think.
Lennart was just an assistant nurse back then.
He loved Tameka very much, and finally worked up the courage to ask her the big question.
Lucky for him, she said yes.
Not long after that: boom. Tara in the works.
Grandmother Penny loved looking after the wonderful little girl.

At Windenburg Island, business is blooming. So is Vetle's aggression towards certain customers he doesn't like.
It can get quite ugly at times.
Like this time when he beat up a female customer. He's such an awful bully.
Still, the ladies seem to adore him (except the ones he knocks cross-eyed, of course)
...and the men too.
He did have a boyfriend in his teens, so I see him as bi. But right here he doesn't seem to notice his male admirer.
This time it's Jenni Mayer, who is head over heels for him. Watch out, girl! I would have thought twice before getting involved with this man.
When Vetle's great-grandmother had a (slightly more honest) business on the very same plot of land, way back in the day.
Wonder what she would have said if she knew what kind of business her great-grandson would be managing from this spot.
Most of his conquests realize that it's never going to amount to anything more, that he's just using them as a distraction.
And when they're gone in the morning, or he's kicked them out, he'll carry on his day with a feeling of emptiness.
He would like to change his life around in order to get Mariana, but he just doesn't know how to get rid of his criminal lifestyle.
And sometimes she'll lead his attention away from those others.
This night at the bluffs, she even let him put his arm around her while they were gazing into the fire.
As much as Vetle is trying not to get his hopes up, he can't help but notice her poorly concealed affections for him.
Mariana's mother, Sheryl (a sim made by Andrew Arcade), is not very happy with the arrangement. She's known Vetle since he was a boy who got her daughter into all kinds of trouble. We're back in Willow creek, and a few changes have happened in the house. I gave Albert's room a makeover. Before:
...and after. This way it doesn't look so much like a toddler's room anymore.
I also finally finished their back yard.
When I furnished the house I had no idea what to do with this area. But eventually I got some inspiration, and I quite like the way it turned out.
His best friend is Pri Yun-Holiday, a funny and smart girl who likes to come over to play with his science table.

It's been too tempting for him to invite over his attractive colleague Mariko when he has the house to himself in the daytime. Musicians...
YOU'RE MAKING A MISTAKE
Oh dear, Nita's picture is right there!
He is always careful to make her leave before the kids get home from school.
I don't think he would ever want to leave Nita, so I'm not sure how he will handle the situation if she finds out about this.
(edited because I got Mariko's name wrong... again)

Man, I love this scenery.
