But the next morning the sky has cleared and there's the most beautiful sunrise over the island.
Just as quickly as it changed over night, it changes again. It starts pouring down and before they know it they're in the middle of a thinderstorm.
Sigurd hurries home to catch school, but Anna is excused from school today so she stays with her dad to have breakfast. They both enjoy the storm, so they decide to take a table under a glass roof outside.
The bees have been busy and it's time to collect some honey!
It's not easy to concentrate on uncovering and authentication when you have two energetic toddlers to look after.
But their store is still running with lots of profits. The children are sent to daycare or their grandparents when Fridtjof and Jonatan have a store day.
When they get back home, they find their children quietly playing and waiting for them.
Pedro has become more fond of playing alone, he's learned to read picture books by himself and enjoys drawing away for the noise of the others to do so.
The family has built a natural pool at the back of the garden. Anna is already using it all she can.
She stays in the water as long as she can, until her parents call her inside for dinner.
It's no use trying to dry the laundry outside when it's raining every day, so Fridjof is taking it back down. They haven't owned a dryer yet, but they realize it's time to get one.
The family are spending a weekend in Granite Falls. Primarily to catch fish and play in nature. They have rented a small cabin with only one bedroom, so some of them are sleeping in the tent.
Jonatan and Anna are the ones who are most fond of fishing, so they immediately head down to the river while Fridjof and Sigurd get a fire going.
It's pretty cold in Granite Falls, but the fire is keeping them all nice and warm.
Pedro doesn't find the fire all that interesting so he needs some extra entertainment once the others are headed inside.
It's their last day vacation, and it's a beautiful one. Sigurd decides to explore the area and see if he can find some things to collect. He finds enough frogs to earn him a scouting badge!
Then he goes fishing with his father for a while. Their plan is to sell some of the fish when they get home.
Will you be sharing their updated home? The greenhouse looks lovely!
Sure! I pretty much update their home all the time, but I changed it quite a bit now with Seasons so I can upload a new version next time I play with them. I'm kind of proud of the greenhouse
When they have settled at home again after the vacation, Fridtjof and Jonatan run a yard sale with lots of fish from Granite Falls and all the produce they've harvested lately. They sell quite a bit, even though they get a bit interrupted by needy toddlers.
They love having these farmers market like sales days, it feels like they're contributing to the neighborhood.
To celebrate the yard sale success and get some time to themselves after a hectic family vacation, Fridtjof and Jonatan go out on a proper date for the first time in ages.
After finishing their restaurant meal they head across the street to try out some roller skating. They could use some more practice.
Ever since they got home from Granite Falls, Anna has refused to take off her bear costume.
The toddlers find it quite amusing, but hopefully it's just a phase.
It's raining heavily in Windenburg these days.
Whenever it's clearing up a little bit, they try to use the opportunity to go outside. Rake leaves, walk the dog, go fishing - and who's afraid of a little bit of rain anyways.
On the day itself, it's time to put up the last decorations and prepare the rest of the food.
It's still raining, but at least the house looks nice!
They have invited Jonatan's parents over for dinner. They've cooked ham, apple pie and honey cake - all using ingredients grown here on the farm. The children have made decorations for the walls and windows.
They have a lovely dinner together, toddlers included - even though they are too stubborn to sit in their high chairs.
Finally a clear day after all the rain, and while the children are at school the toddlers have lots of fun playing in the leaf piles that weren't thrown away before Harvestfest.
For Pedro's birthday they spend the day at the grandparents' home in Willow Creek and eat lots of cake. Happy birthday Pedro!
I bet Åse is super impressed with Sigrid's imitation of her. Sigrid has actually been kind of moody lately and gotten into a lot of arguments with her older siblings, destroying the doll house among other things.
When the children fight their parents usually send them to play outside. That always calms things down.
Over the next couple of days they work hard on getting more artifacts ready for sale. They've also put an archaeology table in the shop, so they can do some of the work directly there.
When their parents are working late, the children enjoy the temporary ice skating rink next to the shop in old town.

He's not quite friends with his bees yet, they keep feeling irritated and stinging him.
But they do produce honey and allow him to collect it.
Almost bedtime. The older children still enjoy being read to just as much as the toddlers.

Then it's time to wake everybody up and gather them around the table for a grand fish meal.
It's delicious!
Even Solveig is allowed to taste the fish.
The toddlers are sleeping in the bedroom with their parents.
Solveig acted like she didn't receive enough attention, so Jonatan gives her an extra hug.
The children are excited to sleep in the tent by themselves.
Anna gives Sigrid a long hug when she's headed out to play. These sisters have been getting along perfectly ever since Sigrid was born!

Yay! Thank you

Maybe even the cat is trying to help in her own way? (I doubt it)

Anna finds lots of frogs and rocks for her scouting collection.
They even manage to sing pretty decent karaoke together that people seem to enjoy.

It's no doubt these are the two biological children of Jonatan and Fridtjof. Sigurd looks like a Fridtjof jr.!
Jonatan can finally take Solveig for a proper winter walk.
