This started out as a challenge build. The QC Monthly asked us to make our version of Venice, and it really inspired me to try. In the end it took me longer than expected so I did miss the challenge deadline, but I wanted to finish it regardless and kept pushing on. I have been fortunate enough in my life to have actually visited Venice. It was an experience for sure. The city is like a maze. All the buildings are narrow and tall, and wind around small streets. It's impossible to get your bearings, as everywhere looks the same. And as beautiful as the city is, you can clearly see that it is sinking. Taking a gondola ride it was evident how staircases now submerged, and wooden doors being rotted by water, were a sign that the city is struggling for it's survival. For my in game interpretation of the city my main focus was having it surrounded by water but connected with bridges. I also wanted it to look and feel like a small city, having commercial buildings as well as residential. I also tried to keep some variety in the look and style of the various buildings.
Piccola Venezia is such a very detailed and special simsversion of Venice! The design and furnishing of each area, room and building in the build looks so very nice! Very nice layout of the build! The design and furnishing of each of the eight homes looks very nice! It looks very nice that there is a different style/theme and colour scheme for each home. The gondolas look great in the water!
The resulting build from all the time and work that you have put into the build is so very nice and special! It looks so very great!
Oh my gosh @Ninnster! Piccola Venezia is an absolutely Stunning build! The detailing throughout the entire project is just Wonderful! You are so very lucky to have visited Venice. It's on my list
I apologize for being so rudely late with my replies!
@rosemow Thank you for always taking such care of us all and taking the time to stop by and comment @illusie Thank you so much sweetie! @WrathofCath Thank you so so much Cath! I do hope you get to visit some day, it is a really unique place that should be experienced! @shakerella Thank you sweetie! I did try and give all the buildings a different look and feel, both inside and outside, so glad you noticed that! And I do hope you get to see Venice
This build was simply a matter of wanting to celebrate Easter and the season of Spring. I wanted to make a sweet little cottage, and I wanted it to be yellow and have a large garden with plenty of flowers. So that's exactly what I did! If you look closely, you may also notice a bunny mom hopping around with her little bunny babies. Have a wonderful Easter everyone!
Cottontail Cottage is a very sunny and nice Springtime Easter home! The flowers through the outdoors area and on the edge of the home look so very pretty! The yellow colour of the exterior looks sunny! The flower box windows are nice touches, and the white cherry blossom trees are very Springtime nice! The bunny is cute in the front garden! It is nice that there are harvestable garden boxes to enjoy growing plants in. Very nice furnishing of the interior of the home! The yellow and brown colour scheme of the rooms looks very nice. The sim taken photos of Easter eggs on the walls are special touches! The sunflowers on the yellow dining table look sunny! Very nice bay window sofa seat sitting and reading nook!
Happy Easter to you and your family!
Cottontail Cottage looks adorable. You created such a lovely scene with the trees, flowers, pond and yellow house. I like the interior. It's a very pretty cottage.
