When will get a Celebrity GP/SP?

«1
Like Late Night/Superstar. I like when my sims can be famous but I hope they fix the paparazzi.

I want to be an Actor/Actress again.

I would love to see this again! Late Night was one of my favorite packs for TS3, but I would hate it if the worlds would become so overpopulated with celebrities like in TS3, before we were able to toggle them off.
I would also like the Showtime careers back <3

I thought you meant a celebrity-branded pack like that one for Sims 3... :D

I can see the appeal in a pack that allows you to go down the celebrity route, but I'm not sure how much I'd like it if the careers weren't active. I think an actor/actress career could easily be active and be fun.

You can show up at the set and eat from a services table (buffet), attend a wardrobe fitting (design costumes in CAS), meet the director and cast. Practice lines with colleagues or try to befriend the director - the higher your relationship, it opens up further interactions to persuade for more lines or a better role which would up your performance. Get famous enough to have your own trailer. When it's time to act, you click on the set or a castmate and choose 'Action!' and your sim changes into the wardrobe you designed and runs through a scene. With a high acting skill and/or relationship with a director, you succeed; lower and it may fail and require you to do it again. Doing it more than three times in succession makes you tense and you can throw a tantrum, storm off set and refuse to come out of your trailer. Having a high fame level allows you to choose to 'Delay production', where your sim can do whatever they want - eat, gossip, sleep, relax - while everyone waits for you. Stuff like that.

I'm sure there are lots of ideas out there - probably better ones - because I only took a minute to think about this!

Adding on to my idea: at certain points your sim doesn't go to the studio lot for work. Instead they go to another lot - like doctors going for house calls - where they can do a photoshoot (they'd need to add this item in again for people who don't own GTW) or attend an interview with a journalist. Relationships gains with a photographer or journalist could cause performance gains.

Photoshoots would be super cool! And Sims can receive like a painting memory of it.

There's so much they could do with this.

I hope they fix the paparazzi.

    TS3 paps got really annoying.

Perhaps they could have them so they show up on community lots, but stay outside of buildings, and maybe follow your sim home, but not stay there all day/night, just for an hour or two, then go away. and not actually enter your sims lot, just hang around outside it.

I agree in the sims 3 they would always stand outside my sim house in the middle of the night which i found creepy. Then talk trash about my sim which would always give my sims bad moodlets. I hope if they bring them back its just 1 NPC like it was in superstar. He hung around on the special studio town lots. It would be cool tho if they made being a paparazzi an active career too where you have to go around studio town trying to find celebs doing naughty things they shouldn't be doing and pap them.

It sounds interesting. After all, we've got the Singing ability, now. So everybody with City Living (and by that I mean everybody) can sing, can for an extra thirty bucks you'll be able to get on stage too.
Prepping a list of mods to add after Infants are placed into the game. Because real life isn't 'nice'.

Im not sure if the singing ability being in city living would cause an issue with a career as a singer. If someone bought the fame pack but doesnt have the city living pack then they wouldn't have the singing skill. I guess they would have to include the singing skill in the fame pack or have a new skill for singing like recording booth or something.

I'd love a proper celebrity theme. Some of my favorite memories of TS1 are of Superstar. Serious nostalgia moment there.

I agree! I loved superstar its always been my favourite ep for the sims. It did fame justice unlike showtime/late night.

I hated the celebrity system: whenever my sim woohooed with an occult they'd just discriminate against them, even if the celebrity was an occult themselves. Way too much on the extreme side of telling us how to play, (which is I personally enjoy the game to choose my way). I'm personal in preference for a more libertarian style celebrity system, where they can live however they want without being judged.

If a celebrity pack was a thing I would hope for something like TS3 where people have star ratings. And sims would act different based on star rating like higher rating more snotty.

There was a star rating system in superstar too. SIms who were over a certain star level would have a star over their head and would be really difficult to talk to/snobby. You would have to impress them before you even got the normal social menu options like chat or flirt etc. I think it was similar in sims 3 but was harder in sims 1!

I'd like something more along the lines of Superstar too. I'd like the three career tracks: acting; fashion; music. We already have some instruments but I'd like for more active features for the musician career like: drums; forming a band; playing gigs; spending time in the recording booth; and filming music videos.

I'm less interested in the fame side, I'm more interesting in the actual careers. The hard work that can go into creating a piece of art. I liked Superstar because you started off at the bottom: performing open-mic comedy or singing karaoke. Then you progressed to other things, like daytime TV, recording studios, or photoshoots. At the top of the careers you got to act on a film set, model on a catwalk, and film music videos.

One thing I'd love to see would be acting on stage and some kind of gig system. I'd like to have a theatre venue with a stage, and be able to put on comedy shows; music gigs; or plays. I'd like to write and direct plays, a bit like in TSM, or be the actor on the stage. But I'd like to direct movies too.

As for fashion, I'd like models to be able to pose for artists and to be able to do photoshoots (GTW photography only works from the photographer's perspective). I'd like a catwalk/runway too for Zoolander style walk-offs! I'd also like to be the fashion designer: creating 'high fashion' clothing, sketching designs like on the Ambition's sketching station; and even sewing up designs on a sewing machine like in Freetime. 'High Fashion' clothes should impress snobby celebrities!

So, as much as I think there should be an A-lister element to the pack. I'm just as interested in the more low-end features of the career: stating a band with your mates in the garage; putting on a high-school stage production; or sketching your fashion ideas in your bedroom. It would be nice for kids and teens to be able to get an interest in the arts even before they launch their adult careers. So, kids could have something like the costume chest from generations and enjoy playing make-believe: this would then help them as adult actors. Or they could put on performances for adults, or arrange their dolls and teddies like a mini-director! Kids should be able to play the drums too!

I hope if they do make it so you start off small then progress to something big they put more options into it then compared to what they did with showtime. I wasn't a fan of the street performing aspect of that pack. Id rather have a second option too like hire an agent off the bat and be told to go to auditions/go do a job here or there with a star system similar to what it was like in superstar only you have to select what part of the industry you want to work in (like tv/movie, music, fashion etc). The mini game aspect of superstar was fun too as it made getting famous more of a challenge instead of just being handed it like in the sims 3 because of who you knew.

Yes, I like the idea of specialising in an industry. And the idea of getting an agent as a way to opt-in to the celebrity system (i.e: don't want your Sim to be a celebrity, then don't get an agent).

I liked some of the street performance options of Showtime, particularly the acrobat and magician stuff, but I feel they would be better suited to some kind of Circus or Vegas style pack.

One thing that frustrated me about Showtime was that my Sim HAD to be employed in the career to use the objects. I had one Sim in particular who was kind of a drifter and was a low-tier magician for a while. When he dropped out of the profession he could no longer use the magician objects and lost the ability to do tricks. But I'd wanted him to get a job as a bartender and be able to impress ladies with basic magic tricks. I was so disappointed that he lost his new skill. I'd like to be able to use the objects without being employed in the careers. So if I wanted to get some Sims from the local community to put on a play, I could still do that without having to have them be professional actors. Like how our Sims can tell jokes on the mic without having to be a comedian. I like the idea of having amateur access!

Oh, and thank you @YankeesForever! :)

I think Celebrity game pack is gonna be next this year or next year

I would rather it was something really big, but the bigger it is, the longer it takes.

Consider Get To Work. It's got Active Careers like Singing, Acting and Modelling could all be. But it's an EP. It could also have used an extra couple of months work for the Detective career.

@ferret9005 mine either! I don't like too much attention in real life or the sims. I think fame is uncomfortable. not interested In this pack.

I loved Superstar and Showtime, but I have a feeling it's not coming for a while, if at all. But here's a mod that is a work in progress: Road to Fame.
