Tyler is a man who once lived in a different time. Some unfortunate circumstances led to him making a choice. Becoming a vampire wasn't on his life goals at the time, nor did he know how to cope with turning into one.. He faked his own death to spare his loved ones the horror of finding out he is a 'monster'.

Now it's time to wake up.. Now it's time to give his existence meaning.. Now is the time for answers.

However, the sad reality is that eternity is a long time, and memories are eternal.

Follow Tyler as he navigates eternity.. starting in a forgotten crypt with a modest fortune hidden away underneath the dust to start a new 'life'.

Tyler is a vampire, not by choice. He couldn't bear the thought of facing his family when he turned, so he chose to fake his own 'death'... he then hibernated the years, even decades away.. his family is long since dead, and those who are alive in the family tree won't know of his existence nor relation...

Tyler awoke alone in his coffin one day.. the smell of dust was thick in the air of the crypt he was lain to rest in..





A fresh start he wouldn't wish upon anyone... but he isn't broke though. He was lain to rest with several of his more personal belongings.. enough to fetch more than a pretty penny when he would awaken.

The crypt is his home.. at least until he can get a new one built.



Don't worry, it took several 'how to' and 'for dummies' books to get things figured out.. even had to catch up a bit on history. Thankfully, Tyler was always a quick learner.. he even found some of the simtube tutorials amusing.



His aged fingers still remember how to play an organ.



He got acquainted with some of the locals.. figured that since he was all alone, he should embrace the lifestyle.



Still, a long hibernation left him rather thirsty.. so a trip to a suburb was in order.



..and this sim was particularly tasty.. one he will have to revisit.

Episode Two: The clock keeps ticking.

The contractors weren't kidding when they said,"we have a same day guarantee."

From the outside, the home looks well done. Tyler still couldn't help but to shake the feeling that this house is fairly reminiscent of his old family's home... or at least it does on the exterior. He was assured that although a classic theme is evident, the home is up to date.



The fact the contractors were able to move a statue older than him without a scratch is even more impressive, but something felt off. The statue's expression isn't what he remembers.. she has a rather somber look on her face. Tyler shrugged it off.



Ah, nothing quite like fresh air with a hint of aged wood.. and nothing breaks in a new home like a glass of scotch.. the fact it is inside of an old globe is a nice touch.



All of his books were moved over to the new bookshelf as well.



There was still plenty of time to kill, so why not dig a little deeper into 'vampire' lore until morning rolls around.



Even though Tyler has no need to eat normal food, it was sort of comforting to cook something for breakfast.. the new stove is certainly an upgrade from the stove he remembers his mother cooking on.. If anything, the kitchen is for aesthetic versus utility.



Tyler spent the rest of the morning working on bar tending.. a house comes with bills, and well, he spent almost every penny he had to make this house a reality.. He has to come up with a way to start making an income that is reasonable with his 'lifestyle'. Being a bartender fits the bill just fine: night time hours, tips, and an alright wage depending on the establishment.



..eventually he needed a break, so he took to the porch to mess around with the chess set. The wind chime was soothing.. he also didn't dare ask why being on the porch during the day was fine.. just stuck to the shade.



A new house popping up attracts attention, and Vlad wanted answers that night.. or he was looking for a meal, never know with that guy.



Tyler and Vlad exchanged answer for answer, since Tyler had questions of his own..



Vlad happily answered any 'vampire' related questions, but was hesitant with any relating to Tyler's family. Tyler had to earn those.



Checkmate, Vlad.

With Vlad being a 'descendant' of the oldest family in the hollow, he had some knowledge of Tyler's family.. It may not have brought him joy, but Tyler found some peace..

Turns out Tyler's family found peace too.. Although his fake drowning incident was a tragedy, his family moved on. Once his siblings were of age, they moved away. Tyler's parents also moved somewhere greener to live out their rest of the days.

Vlad had no knowledge of where they went.

Tyler didn't let this newfound knowledge bring him down. He enjoyed watching the news followed by some classic cinema. 'Black and white' wasn't around last time Tyler walked the earth, but it reminded him of the plays his parents would take him to in the city.



He certainly didn't lose any sleep over it.. maybe the freeing feeling of sleeping in a bed for the first time in ages had something to do with it too.



That evening, Tyler got invited out to 'sparring' night. It was a nice change of pace, and it was all in good fun.. Tyler had his fair share of losses that night, but victories still felt good.





Elle took an interest in Tyler, and he didn't have any complaints when she asked if she could come over after sparring night. It gave Tyler a chance to learn a bit more about the area.

They exchanged knowledge over some smooth drinks, and both of them managed to learn something new.

Tyler may not know Elle that well, but she can at least be considered a friend.



Jessica also took an interest in Tyler. Jessica took him out to a bar in the burbs the next evening to help him adjust to modern life, even helped him pick out a more acceptable outfit. Jessica, being a renowned investor, knew what she was talking about when it comes to everyday etiquette.



Toss in little extra liquid courage, and Tyler looks like he's got it more than figured out.



The rest of the night gets a bit blurry, but Jade Rosa somehow ended up inviting Tyler to join Partihaus. He accepted her invite.

The next evening, apparently a bit more than we expected happened the previous night.

When it was time to gather with Partihaus, Jade was being pretty fresh with Tyler.. and things went smoothly.

Episode Three: A loving ruse

Tyler finds himself in a predicament.. While he was at home playing videogames to kill daylight, he got a call from Jade asking him on a lunch date.. He figured it wouldn't be a big deal despite the sun still being a 'thing'.

Tyler gave Jade quick embrace before rushing inside. Jade still doesn't exactly know Tyler is a vampire, even though it is common knowledge that they exist these days. Pay no mind to the fact it doesn't seem to be a big deal either that vampires are freely out and about.



Tyler should have mentioned he preferred an indoor table to host.

On the bright side, the host didn't pick up on anything weird like glowing eyes. A good sign for Tyler's ruse working on Jade that he is somewhat normal.. on the downside of things, he just got seated outside.



The whole outdoor table thing in the middle of the day isn't going to fly.



Tyler was quick to go back inside to try and work something out with the host. He didn't want to bail on the date completely, because of a table.

Tyler landed a new table, and with a little classic misdirection, Jade didn't question the switch.

The rest of lunch date went smoothly.





Tyler wasn't completely oblivious to the hints Jade was dropping. He saw no reason why he wouldn't want to keep seeing her, so they made it official.

When the weekend rolled around, Jade wanted to blow off some steam at the Blue Velvet. Tyler was happy to oblige. Tyler was still working with Jessica on catching up to modern times, so he enjoyed having opportunities to put her tips into practice.



Tyler made sure to subtly hint at his distaste for the sun.



Unfortunately, Jade called him a bit early this evening, so Tyler had not had a chance to feed yet.. and well, he was getting thirsty for more than nectar.

He took the opportunity to sneak a bite in while Jade went to the ladies room.

Jade took the hint, so they only went out at night.



Jade did find it a little odd that Tyler preferred more of a night life, but she didn't mind. It meant she would have more opportunities to dance.



In typical "third date" fashion, Tyler went in for the first kiss.

After a couple months of steady dating, Jade and Tyler had a fairly nice routine for their date nights.

Karaoke night is always on the top of the list.



They were getting pretty good at jazz duets too. They actually won the contest that particular night.



This is the face of someone in love.



A fairy tale in the dark.

It's been almost ten months now, and Tyler grew a little more flexible with the whole 'sun' thing by this point. Tyler has still managed to maintain his ruse.

There was something different about this date though.. well, apart from their once in a blue moon lounge night.

This was the day he realized that he was going to marry this woman.



This was the day she realized that she was going to marry a dork.

..but everything is alright.



This meant Tyler had to make some preparations.

For starters, he needed to brush up on his cooking skills.



He also needs to get a real job. Up until now, he has just been moonlighting a local bar for when 'something' happens to a bartender.
It paid the bills, but he needs to aim higher now.



Tyler will also need to face the reality that he is going to have to give up his ruse eventually, but he will cross that bridge when he gets there.

However, there are some vampire related questions he needs answered for when he does reveal what he is to her.

Tonight is a special night. Tyler invited Jade over to his place for the first time in the ten months they've been dating. It was mostly for safety reasons that Jade didn't need to be aware of even when she previously pushed the subject.



Before things got too gushy, Tyler knew he needed to tell her the truth..



Tyler asked Jade to come with him to the kitchen. He told her he had something to tell her that she might want a drink with.



Maybe she assumed it was champagne and not scotch, since that was easier than expected.. maybe she knew the question was coming.

Either way, her expression was to be expected when he finally told her he was a vampire.



There was a long silence while Jade processed this information.

After what felt like a century, Jade took Tyler's hands. She looked Tyler in the eyes and told him how much she loved him. She made it clear it doesn't change how she feels, she just had one rule: Don't. Bite. Me.



Tyler figured that was a probably the best response he would get considering the circumstance, so it was more than enough.

Tyler dropped on one knee, and proposed. He told Jade that he accepted her condition, and that he wouldn't allow anyone else to either.



She said yes.

They set the date for their one year anniversary.

Tyler took the news well, but he has some serious questions to ask Vlad.

'History Lesson'

Tyler has had a year to search for answers. He has dug through ancient tomes, history books, and endless links on the internet. Tyler has found out all there is to be found the old fashioned way, but it's not enough.. Now he looks to Vlad for more answers.

Once Jade was asleep, Tyler snuck away to the not so abandoned manor atop the hill. To the ordinary sim, the manor is abandoned. Only a select few know that Vlad resides there. The perfect place for a truly private discussion.



Tyler kept his questions to a minimum, as to not annoy Vlad.. but the questions he did ask were the most important.

Tyler wanted to know:
-What happens with vampire offspring.
-The mechanics to turning someone into a vampire.
-The evolution of vampire powers and how they are passed down.



Vlad was aware of his situation.. an immortal man with a mortal woman. Vlad also knows that the existing vampire tomes barely scratch the surface on most topics.. and in normal circumstances, he would be very reluctant to answer the questions that are not covered. This time, it's an act of courtesy. Tyler and Jade's wedding was the first event he has been invited to in a long time.

Vampire offspring is an interesting subject, especially in a case such as this.

A long time ago, vampires were not able to reproduce. The way it worked was that two parent vampires, would turn other sims into their children. There was an age restriction, since vampires could not age, turning a child was a crime in vampire society. However, vampires were not immune to evolution.

As centuries passed, vampires gained the ability to reproduce, but at a price. They traded their ability to turn others into vampires in order to have genetically linked offspring. Even though vampires could not age, this evolution allowed for limited aging. Vampire offspring would age until they are a young adult before the aging process stops. This ensured that vampire population would remain steady, but less diverse. In the case with reproducing with a mortal, it is a 50/50 chance the child is a vampire.



The ability to turn other sims into vampires wasn't lost completely though. It turned out to be a dormant gene that skipped generations. The gene skipped three generations on average.

Upon further study, this gene pertains to how a vampire processes plasma. For most vampires, plasma is simply the way they sustain their energy and powers. For others, a byproduct of the processed plasma is 'vampiric essence' that flows through the vampire's system along with the ingested plasma. This vampiric essence is the key to turning another sim into a vampire.

There are restrictions to how the process works. To turn another sim into a vampire, the vampire must first consume the target sim's plasma to make sure that sim's body doesn't reject the rest of the process. A pint is usually enough for the process. Once enough plasma has been ingested, the vampire must cut an opening for the mortal to ingest plasma from. The wrist is the preferred location. The mortal must then consume the plasma from the vampire, since this plasma has vampiric essence flowing within it. The only restriction is that it doesn't work on direct family.. so a vampire cannot turn a mortal parent or child for example.

Once the mortal has ingested vampiric essence, the process starts.. over the next three days that sim will slowly die. They will feel it. Once they die, they immediately turn into a new vampire.



Powers are also genetically influenced thanks to traditions dating back a millennia. Men typically find their strength in their powers while women find their strength in physical abilities.. but it is possible for the vampire to evolve their abilities beyond their predestined path. For a vampire such as yourself that has been turned, the gender of whoever turned you influences what abilities and traits you might have as much as one of your parents.

Only way to see what powers you have and what powers you may have is by a test a select few can administer, since it requires visiting your mind through a power.



Tyler follows Vlad outside, so Vlad can administer the test.

First, Vlad must examine Tyler's dark aura before exploring his mind.





Vlad had some good news and bad news.

Starting with the good news, Vlad informed Tyler that the vampire who turned him was powerful. She was so strong, that Tyler may have a power even more rare than turning another sim into a vampire. Tyler is also stronger than the average male in combat, though his powers are not as effective.



The bad news is that Tyler doesn't have the ability to turn another sim into a vampire, but the gene may be dormant.



Vlad reassured Tyler that he was a strong vampire with a lot to offer. Tyler just needs to cherish the time he has with anyone he holds dear.. and even though it wasn't the answer Tyler was hoping for.. he was thankful for everything Vlad has done for him.

In order to keep Jade safe, Tyler stayed awake all night.

Even though sleep isn't really an issue for a vampire, he sacrificed the intimacy to make sure none of the locals tried anything cheeky.



He made it up to her by cooking her breakfast before she had to get ready for work.





He also brewed her coffee while she was in the shower.



She always thanked him before heading off to work. These two managed to turn a morning routine into a hallmark moment.



around five months into the pregnancy, Tyler noticed something odd one morning..

Tyler doesn't need to fear the sun anymore.



He still isn't fond of the sun though.

'The big day'

Nothing say "Lets have a baby" quite like the face of a father's terror.









The birth went along nicely.. well, except for the typical hiccup, but that's to be expected.



That's not a baby.





That's a baby.. a baby boy.. a baby boy named Scott.



Tyler didn't get his turn until they got home.



Today was a good day.



Turns out, vampires make great parents. Jade gets to sleep all she wants while super dad takes care of all the midnight disasters.



Tyler rediscovered some lost inspiration, and he started spending some nights down below between diaper changes.



Time certainly flew by.. before they knew it, Scott was ready to learn how to walk.
