Lighting issue.

I know that there has been a solution for the mod lighting issue for a while using S4S and a version's just come out for Mac however, my laptop won't update to the version of OS it requires. I updated to version 10.10.5 but that's the latest I can get. Is that the only way for the lighting cc to be fixed? I miss my fairy lights!
