'' Sims 4 has stopped working '' and Origin lag?

Hello everyone.

I have a question.
Like my thread suggests, my Sims 4 just won't open. I click play ( via Origin of course ) and it opens until the sims 4 logo and then it says 'sims 4 has stopped working '.
Also, beforehand, Origin is very slow and laggy ( as in it lags my mouse etc )

What can i do to counteract this?

If you have cc/mods in your game, move your mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and see if the issues are still there.

If the issues still remain, repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

If you still have issues, try uninstalling and reinstalling origin and see if that helps.

So far, deleting my origin cache files and sims 4 cache files, seemed to do the trick. For now.

How do you find the Origin Cache files?

Google mostly. it's somewhere at 'Program Data'

I realize this thread is old, but since it was the first result when I went searching tonight I though this might help someone else. Right click on the Sims 4 file (I did this with the shortcut on my desktop) and select "Run as Administrator". Do the same for your Origin file. This solved the issue for me.

Other things to check are that your graphics driver and Origin are up to date.

B T W, did you know that if Windows updates while playing, it can cause the game (and Origin) to crash? I had this yesterday, and needed to reset my game afterwards. Thanks to our sweet rosemow, I know how to do. Thanks rosemow.
