Hey guys! As some of you know my laptop no longer runs this game and now they will give me money to build a new computer.
I need help with the stuff I gotta buy. I want to be able to run TS3 with most EPs, TS4 with all its current content and the future one and I also use a lot of CC and I'm planning to use some lighting mods if it's needed. I want both games to run as smoothly as possible and with good graphics. I have a budget of about 1.540 US dollars, hopefully less. Can you guys please help me with some sort of list. My brother in law will build it and he knows a lot about computers but he doesn't quite know about The Sims and I'm a mess at understanding this.
I would really appreciate your help! Thank you!

She, actually This forum rocks when it comes to women-who-know-tech. I've learned a *lot* from them, and my husband has handed over computer-building to me now (But there are some guys too.)
I will put a little list together for the hardware i would choose for your budget
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Hcx33F
The link above includes everything (excludes a mouse.. however you can pick any.)
All of the parts above are very highly recommended and fit perfectly within your budget.
Keep in mind if you are connecting to wireless internet, then you will need a wireless card or adapter, Such as

Buying parts means you can buy things as they go on sale if you want.. or all at once. When the PC is put together, you can ask here how to set everything up. The solid state drive will be your main drive with the operating system on it with plenty of room for games. Most people use their hard drive for storage (pictures, files, backups, etc). If you play Sims 3, you will need to turn on vsync. All things we can help with once you have it put together.

Thank you hopefully I get to do it before February 23rd or I'll have to wait till march
Those links were great @chesterbigbird will it be able
to run both TS3 and TS4 with high graphics?
Also will it make a big difference if I get the intel Corei5 instead of the intel core i7 and also do you suggest that video card instead of Nvidia?
That will play the games at max settings easily.
The cpu i listed (core i5 7600K.) Is a great cpu.. you do not need the i7
The card i picked is Nvidia, However its a non reference model. it's the nvidia chip but Gigabyte makes the cooler for it (much much better.)
See here the difference between reference and non reference cards :
https://www.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http://www.legitreviews.com/images/reviews/2206/evga-gtx780-acx.jpg&imgrefurl=http://forums.hexus.net/graphics-cards/315325-reference-non-reference-cooler-question.html&docid=dn63dW521iV4WM&tbnid=_RctO62Zw_C_RM:&vet=1&w=1024&h=806&client=opera&bih=893&biw=2256&q=reference vs non reference cards nvidia &ved=0ahUKEwjereT0xOjRAhXHvrwKHZ_mDKoQMwgeKAUwBQ&iact=mrc&uact=8
See the card with the bigger fans? That's a non reference card with better cooling then the original Nvidia.

Couldn't find the memory you suggested either but I found this one

I would send you the site I'm using but it's in Spanish
For the 7th gen intel cpu you are much better off looking for a Z270 motherboard. MSI has added support for the 7th gen intel on their Z170 boards however you will need to update the bios.
Here is a list of MSI Z270 boards :
https://www.msi.com/Motherboards/
Look for full sized ATX boards from that list.. or you can go with other manufactures.
And no for that ram... you need to look at DDR4 ram.
Here is a Gskill list of DDR4 dual channel ram :
http://www.gskill.com/en/finder?cat=31&series=0&prop_2=16GB+(8GBx2)&prop_14=DDR4&prop_6=Dual+Channel+Kit&prop_3=2400MHz
Just double check with me before buying

Oh wow haha so confusing is updating the bios difíficult? And thank you so much for your help
Updating the bios isn't too difficult, But if you do it wrong then you will have problems and may not even be able to boot the pc.
Much better to get the Z270 boards.

Mmm those are the ones from the site

It's in Spanish but I think you can recognize the names anyway I hope so ... I wish I could change the language
LOL i can google translate
I think this is the only Z270 board (cheapest.)

Haha what about this one? http://m.pcfactory.cl/producto/24664-MB.Intel.H270F.STRIX.GAMING
I have no specific budget for anything cause I don't really understand how much each part costs, so the budget for everything is about 1560US so I'm just comparing prices to the stuff you linked to make sure the difference isn't that big. Just out of curiosity which parts are the most expensive ones haha
If you never want to buy a overclocking cpu then that should be ok, The H270 boards cannot be overclocked, So you will need a Intel cpu without the K on the end. (K means overclockable.)
So the I5 7500 for example.

Mmm
I found that one
http://m.pcfactory.cl/producto/24538-CPU.Core.i5-7400.3.5GHz.6MB.(1151)
Also... not sure what overclocking means haha
Overclocking is just adjusting voltages to give the cpu more power (faster.)
But you should be ok with the i5 7400 and the H270 board.
The other option is to go for the i5 6600K and the Z170 board.
So this board :
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Z170A-GAMING-M3.html#hero-overview
And this cpu :
http://m.pcfactory.cl/producto/20758-CPU.Core.i5-6600K.3.5.GHz.(1151)
This is probably going to be the best option.
