Have the devs even said a word about trying to fix it? Stopped playing detective because it was bugged to death, and now doctors I'm seeing more bugs: always trying to put patient in same bed as other patient when there are many other empty beds, for example.

That one's frustrating. The only way I've found to combat it is to wait til the patient stops in the hallway and then cancel the interaction. Eventually the patient will go find an unoccupied bed.

If your concern with the detective career is finding the right suspect, I've found a couple of things help.

First, sometimes it's better to only have 2 or 3 clues. It seems that the game gets confused if you have too many.

Secondly, I got into the habit of saving as soon as I was in an area after announcing an APB. Then, if I couldn't find the suspect (or arrested the wrong person), I exited to the main menu without saving, then reopened the game (be sure to click the detective Sim when it asks you which one you want to play as). It will take you back to the APB area, and sometimes, some of the Sims present will have changed.

Unfortunately, it's still a pretty glitchy career. At least you only have to solve 6 or so cases.

Since the toddlers update the detective career is terribly buggy. Crime scenes have nothing to do, no items to find or take pictures of, mug shots, searching criminals, finger printing all have issues with stop starting, sort of freezing whilst rest of game carries on in background. Incredibly annoying and I imagine the other careers are just as buggy too that I just don't want to even try. I hope a patch will be done for this soon. Thanks

I am sorry that you are having these issues in the detective career.
It may help to have your sim quit his career, then rejoin it and see if that may help. You can use career promotion cheats to get him back to the level he was on.
Repairing the game may also help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

With the feezing issues, when it happens, going to game options and back, or buy mode and back, or pressing the "m " key can help the issue.

The Developers looks at the list of issues that crinrict has made, ( http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4-Bug-Reports/READ-FIRST-Compiled-list-of-Bugs/m-p/3445209#U3445209)
and the bug reports both here in the forums and on the AHQ EA site, and they do testing on the issues. Sometimes they also ask for save files from simmers who have had the issues.

I'm having the same issues. Unfortunately, quitting the career and repairing the game didn't help. Guess I'll try out what @SuperCoolRachael suggested. Thanks for the tips! Still, I hope this gets fixed soon.

Some simmers are finding that the clues that they are given don't match the eventual suspect. If you are finding it hard to find a suspect, try arresting other sims also, that may not fit the clues.

The Get To Work Careers are riddled with bugs. Retail is also buggy. Sometimes you aren't charged when you restock your items, and you're never charged when an employee does it for you, which is incredibly broken gameplay-wise.

Honestly, the only thing that makes this pack worth getting is all the new items it adds. Because from a gameplay perspective, it's just simply broken.

As a software developer, that blows my mind - things like this should be trivial to fix for any programmers that have any idea how to program.

This is so disheartening to hear. I really wanted to get back into the Sims now that the series seems to be picking up in some interesting ways, but I won't if they still haven't fixed GTW. The retails bugs were so bad that I decided that I wouldn't spend any more money until they fixed their previous releases. Looks like I'll be waiting for a very long time.

I didn't know that was a bug. I just always deleted the action and the patient would find their way to a bed. Wowzers. Since that's a bug, then it's been like that for a long time for me too Haven't tried the other careers out yet, but crikes.

Patients are to find their way to a bed by giving them the command to do so, not by giving their command to do so, then because they'll sit there for an hour, delete the command while they still stand there for some time before finally going to a bed, while you cannot perform actions on them until they do.

And many times when you cannot diagnose and it says to transfer to the doctor, the option does not come up when you click on him.

Also, with the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration, when I am with a Sim at some career, for example Detective, only he receives the earning points when he comes back home, but when I am with another Sim at home, and someone comes back from work, they all receive earning points.

Some simmers have found that the eventual suspect doesn't fit the clues that they have been given. Your suspect may not fit the description.
With your other detective issues, repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair

With the aspiration, are other members of your sims household also doing the same aspiration?

I hope this doesn't count as off-topic, but the Scientist career, at least, seems to work the way it should. If you still want to do an "Active Career," that's the one to go for, and it's a lot of fun, too!

Hi. Yes, they are, but Fabulously Wealthy aspiration usually did not require to be active in order to gain points on income.

Yes, Scientist career is both the most rewarding and the easiest one, and also with no bugs encountered in it so far.
