Glitchy Sim won't age up «12...Next Go

A few days ago, I had one of my Adult Sims, Ayame, marry an Adult Townie, Taylor. I noticed something weird about Taylor right away: She didn't ever change outfits, even to work out, sleep, or take a shower. I thought it was just an amusing and harmless glitch, so I didn't do anything about it.

Recently, one of my Young Adult Sims (another Townie) aged up into an Adult, even though Taylor had yet to age up into an Elder. I grew suspicious and checked Taylor's Simology panel. It said she was an Adult, and that she had one day left until aging up into an Elder; however, the progress bar was completely empty.

I like Taylor, but I don't want her to live forever, so I tried to age her up into an Elder, as her wife had already aged up several days ago. However, although I could get her to add birthday candles, I couldn't get her to do any of the actions that would age her up. She wasn't just ineligible for the aging up; the options didn't even appear.

So I'm stuck with this apparently immortal Sim. I know aging is on because my other Sims are aging up.

I have tried exiting my game, moving my Mods folder to the desktop, and repairing the game at Origin. The glitch is still there.

The sim could have a trait stopping them from aging since theyw ere a townie. @rosemow knows what they r tho so its more useful asking her

She may have a hidden trait that stops her from aging.
The Weirdo, CityRepair and StatueBusker hidden traits prevent aging.
Try doing this. Play as the sim. Then type into the cheat bar
testingcheats true
Press enter
Then type in
traits.remove_trait isWeirdo
Press enter

See if that helps.
isWeirdo can be replaced in the removal cheat with isCityRepair or isStatueBusker if that is the hidden trait that they have.

I tried all three of those, and it still won't work. Was there anything in the code you told me to enter that wouldn't work if I copy-and-pasted it?

You could download the show/search info mod, which tells you if the sim has a hidden trait. You would then know if and which particular trait to try to remove .

GOTCHA! "Aging: Auto age / Cannot age up"

So how do I fix this? It's not listed under "Traits" or "Hidden Traits," just under the basic "Sim Info." Can I fix it? Or will I just have to kill/delete her when the time comes?

In the hidden traits section , does it say that the sim has eirher the isWeirdo,isCityRepair or isStatueBusker traits? Try looking in the hidden traits section for those traits.

No, I checked. She doesn't have any hidden traits, besides her snooty walk and whether or not she can impregnate, pee standing up, etc.

You may need to use cas.fulleditmode , fake her into cas and age her up that way. Perhaps that may then enable her to,eventually die of old age.

Well, I succeeded in aging her up that way! I'll let you know if it has any impact on her aging.

It's as I feared--her aging bar still isn't filling up, despite the "Days Lived" increasing. I guess I'm just going to have to put her out of her misery myself when her wife dies.

Oh my God. WHY WON'T THIS SIM DIE? I gave her the Hysterical (Playful 100+) moodlet, having to endure the shame of the game informing me that I cheated that moodlet onto her. I've had her tell jokes, had jokes told to her, had her make silly faces in the mirror, and had her play in the bath AND take a bubble bath. Her current Playful/Hysterical moodlet is +107. She should be dying of laughter right now, but she's behaving normally with the occasional fit of giggles now and then. Her Sim Info doesn't say anything about her being unable to die.

I don't even seem to be able to delete her. There's no "Kill..." option like in other games when I shift-click her. Help!

These hidden traits where sims don't age up came with the city living patch.

I give up. I'm a broken woman. Apparently Taylor is just never going to die. "Enraged" death didn't work either.

This won't be a problem now, but if I continue to unknowingly bring immortal Sims into my family, I'm going to have trouble with this challenge.

It's okay. I finally managed to get rid of her by going into cas.fulleditmode, then deleting her. It's not the way I prefer to do things, but at least she's gone.

It is good that you have been able to remove her from your game now .

Islandlord isvender apparently also immune to old age, also make sure she is not a vampire under disguise, there aging stops at young adult.

I had the exact same issue, not even MC Command would kill this dude. I was able to finally kill him by using the cheat rosemow gave with the isVender that sid1701D9 mentioned

My sim won't age up either. However, her bar just won't progress at all. It stays empty. I aged her up in Create A Sim, and her bar for adult STILL won't progress. She refuses to blow it candles or anything. I didn't download any expansion packs recently, either.

I'm worried that when I have to age her up in full edit mode to an elder, I won't have the heart to kill her.

Check to see if is pregnant. Pregnant sims don't age .

If she isn't pregnant, she may have a hidden trait that stops her from aging.
The Weirdo, CityRepair and StatueBusker hidden traits prevent aging.
