Laptop running questions

Haha, well I'm glad I have been blessed by the fairy...

It runs Sims 4 with 2 EP's all be it it goes from perfect play to laggy quite randomly, but it is playable. I just put all the graphics options back to medium, windowed full screen mode and laptop mode and it's been running pretty well... For now..

Can't be all that bad then surely? I know it's low end and way, WAY off being a gaming PC and what you expect gamers to use. But it works... For now...

Thank you for the help both of you. Been food for thought for now. I'll see what I can save, sorry for wasting your time for now. I'll probably PM you in a few years or so when I have maybe saved that much money! For now I'll have to struggle on with this one, maybe get rid of my expansions or revert back to Sims 3..

Just save what u can. Hardware do have sales so never know what bargains can be had. Happy to help when needed ;)

Im glad you figured out a way to get your game play better.

When I say your laptop is way below minimum requirements, it is for both games. Just be glad it runs, don't question why it's willing to run. You might jinx the fairy dust :p

@chesterbigbird Just been having a play around with parts for a rough idea. Do these look alright on a lower budget? Hopefully looking to buy June time. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/BhKsxY

Storage is missing because the Pc I am going to rebuild already has 1TB in it.

I'll see if I can find some cheaper ram. Weird how things vary from place to place.

It definitely pays to shop around.

The Hyper X is good ram.
Were you getting a case also?

Thank you. We were leaving the case for now. Hubby thinks that the case we have would be a waste to not try to use, it has extra slots to add extensions to it. But we will see how it goes I think.

Hey sorry to bother you... Again... But been playing around with the parts list again. The previous ones (and the new one actually) have come up with potential compatibility issues, looks like it's just to do with an update but was wondering if that is going to be an issue at all?

Changed a few parts. Also, lowered the spec on the video card a little, is that going to be an issue? https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/mLjc7h

Well first of it seems like they might not fit together and I'm not sure if AMD is good nor if the card is enough(: (I'm no expert at computer parts)

The parts came up in the compatibility filter. It's just an update it says they may need. I say that like I know for sure... I don't, but that seems to be what the notes say?

Also, on the requirements page there is an AMD option, I think the one I have chosen surpasses the one they suggest?

Its not that, I don't know AMD so I'm not sure if its enough for the game. Even though it might be on a list right now doesn't mean itll handle the game later on with more patches and especially if get a lot of packs(:

I would wait for chester but I would get a better CPU. AMD 8000 series. This game is CPU heavy

The one thing that i would absolutely change is the power supply
    https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/4kKhP6/be-quiet-pure-power-10-500w-80-silver-certified-atx-power-supply-bn273
    https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/PHCwrH/corsair-power-supply-cx500m
    https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/TgW9TW/seasonic-power-supply-m12ii520bronze
Personally i would grab the Seasonic.
Never a good idea to skimp on the power supply.
The Graphics card will be fine for the game, It's better then the previous AMD cards.
The cpu will be ok for the time being, The motherboard will allow for a better cpu (AMD FX 8350) So either get the better one now or see how it play's for you and upgrade later.

Is this video card any good?https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/x7s8TW/msi-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-4gb-video-card-gtx-1050-ti-4gt-oc

I've added the new power supply and upped the CPU to the AMD 8300? (Meet in the middle?)

Just pushes me very slightly over budget. No r a major issue just means I'd have to wait for another pay packet.. And I'm impatient..

@Cherryrose_x The MSI 1050 ti is a good card. Chester has an MSI 1080 card. The 8300 processor should be fine. @chesterbigbird input thanks

    That cpu is fine :)
I would stick to the RX 470.. it's better then the Nvidia 1050ti
The 1050ti will work good, However the AMD one is better.

    Awesome. So final list. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/hpv9QV

Need to double check the hard drive I have currently and may have to up it slightly, but it has space for me to add to rather than replace. Other than that I think we are good. :)

Thank you so so much for all your help @chesterbigbird

These were the pics I showed you. I was just going to see how it goes. Think cooling is needed?

agree they need a better case and especially the cooling with AMD.

It is a pretty huge case. Pics don't so it justice.

I will see how it goes and keep an eye on it. Hubby thinks it will be OK, I will sort some cooling and If I need to change it I will do.
