[CL] Game Initiated Social Events Freeze the Game

Issue: The game initiated social events freeze the game.
Related to: Random Neighbors Visits in City Living EP Apartments.
Additional Info: Vanilla game, Zero Mods, Zero Custom Content with a fresh game folder.
Generally this is not a real issue just an annoyance. The events start autonomously when neighbors appear to crash at your apartment or for Game Night. When the event starts the active household cannot travel during the active event. I realize this is by design,
The issue occurs when I have already initiated travel to another lot by going to Map view. I pressed the 'M' key and while the game is trying to go to map view a 'game night' social events announcement pops up. Now I am stuck in swirl mode while trying to get to map view.
Map view finally loads and I chose my destination. The white screen pops up but just sits there with the random text things scrolling by.
Travel is never completed. I waited approx 5 or 10 real time minutes and travel is never completed.
I have a copy of the save file and the last exception reports if they are needed.

The issue sounds like it is because the social events announcement occurred at the same time as your sim was about to travel. The two clashed together and caused issues. Has this occured very often?

This is the first time my game became frozen to this extent. I had to use Task Manager to close the game. Unfortunately a considerable chunk of game play was lost but nothing to fatal. I totally shut down the computer and just now went back in game. I did Repair the game first. So far (knock wood for luck) the problem has not resurfaced.
It is good that so far the issue hasn't returned.
