Glad that you are enjoying the judging process ajaxpost- I was a little worried that it might be stressful witht the holidays around the corner and whatnot Thanks for letting us know
Don't fret about me stressing over Christmas, having fun with The Sims is all part of my holiday schedule and thankfully my festive arrangements are quite straightforward and don't take too much effort.
For those of you who are particularly busy at this time of year, I hope you find time to relax and enjoy all the festivities and those that don't have a lot of holiday stress have a fabulous Christmas (or however you like to celebrate this time).
I promised this awhile ago but got busy with a video project so, while we're PATIENTLY waiting for a decision ( ) here is a shot of a room in @Goulsquash's build that almost scared the life out of my sim...
I have finally come to a decision! I really have to say that you guys made it incredibly difficult!
Each and every lot had something (or, indeed, many things) that were just perfect. From really seedy interiors, to broken exteriors, seedy bars and gangster offices. Some simple, small and perfectly formed, some larger and full of everything I could want; amazing designs and ideas were EVERYWHERE - it was SO DIFFICULT to choose a winner!
My final criteria was that the lot would be a place one of my future Sims would hang out and get drawn to the wrong side of the tracks. So, with that in mind I picked the lot that I think will best work for my legacy story ...
Everything just works in this lot. Great weathered exterior and good use of boarded up windows and, especially, where there used to be doors. Lovely old little coffee shop and the "hidden" entrance (through the toilet!) to the bar and casino area. The 'faded elegance' of the décor, especially in the bar. The bosses room, and interrogation equipment is simple but very effectively set up, especially with the addition VIP rope and bouncer. Easily placeable and eminently playable.
I will not be using the lot in my Lets Play for a little while yet, but until then, please enjoy this video presentation:
Another example of good "weathering" on exterior and disused bits & pieces. Really nice bar and restaurant layout, and the addition of the two motel rooms is a brilliant touch. The use of pink and red lighting effects adds a really nice 'seedy' feel to the place. Hiding the casino and dancing rooms, along with the distillery rooms is very nicely done (although there are a couple of play issues with the sliding bookcases). Like all the builds there were some nice individual decoration choices, as bizarre as it sounds, in this one I particularly liked the separators for the urinals!!
If you have not explored this lot in your own game please enjoy this video presentation:
If you would like any specific items just let me know, or if you wish to nominate another Simmer to receive your prize, just send me their TS3 userid.
Once again, thank you all so much for taking part, creating such amazing lots ... and giving me such a headache!!
Congrats to the winners!
Thank you! ^_^
Hmm... I had to go searching through the store for some cheap item to round it out and still couldn't quite get an even 750, but this would be my list:
Hibiscus Trio = 405
Up the Ante Dress = 75
Old Town Dining Table = 75
Flower and Lace Flirty Dress = 50
Pedro Estate Arch II = 61
Boeuf Gras Dining Chair = 68
Festive Fencing= 8
405+75=480+75=555+50=605+61=666+68=734+8=742
Total cost: 742
Congrats to the winners. I haven't seen the Hidden Mountain Resort yet, but I had seen Sally's Motel during the competition and was impressed not just by the build, but especially by the back story. I've got to do some review and put my wish list together. At one point during the contest I'd actually assembled my 500 point list, but I've bought into that list, so need to review that and flesh it back out.
Of course, thank you @ajaxpost for hosting. Not just for providing prizes, but for the inspiration to do a build I doubt I'd ever have done otherwise.
I need to go to bed now (work tomorrow! ) so will complete any further requests ASAP and, have to say, I'm really looking forward to creating the video presentations for all of these builds.

Ok, so after careful review and triple checking of my math (which took triple checking; it was right the first time, but the second time I got it wrong, so had to do it a third time just to show that the first time was right;) the following items total 745 SP.
Congrats to The winner, @Goulsquash, and Second place, @SjappielovePaul, you guys did a great job! This was a fun competition with a really fun theme.
Thanks to @ajaxpost for hosting and all the prizes, wow, nobody loses in this one!
For my 750 sp I would love to have items 1 - 8 on my wish list. That comes to 749 sp.
1. The Hypnotizer 340 SimPoints
2 Baseball Jacket 75 SimPoints
3. Slight Scuffle 60 SimPoints
4 Vintage Veil 35 SimPoints
5 Top Hat 64 SimPoints
6. Resort Pants 75 SimPoints
7 Halter with Beads 75 SimPoints
8 Elder's Blazer and Turtleneck Combo 25 SimPoints
Congrats to the winners! I know I looked at both of them when they first posted them, but I don't remember which ones they were. Still, I thought all of the entries were great, so I know they both deserve it.
@Nomiko13 Count up 750 sp worth of stuff you want the most and put it on top of your wishlist to make it easier for you to get this gift.
@ZeeGee I updated my wishlist. Items #1 to #10 total up to 739 simpoints (in case I update my wishlist, I chose items from Say "Aww"! to D-stroyed Teen. )
Thank you @Jude525 (oooh, new name! ), @Kgaff, @MiaSkywalker, and @ZeeGee - I have competed your gifting requests, great to be able to help others Own The Store.
It has also been so lovely to hear that I have been able to inspire you to create something unusual and out-of-the-ordinary for our Sims to enjoy. I've also learnt a lot from exploring these builds, and discovered Store content that I had never even noticed before!
Now I just need to figure out how to do a dive bar like this in a medieval theme. I also learned a lot, and I'm bookmarking this thread, because people had some interesting ideas (like with fog emitters), that I would have never thought of!

Oh, yes, that would be so cool! I'm thinking a proper dark and dingy, stone and straw tavern full of rowdy working men and wenches ... though that is, of course, a stereotype straight off the TV!
Although I've used insect spawners before and seen features like the fog emitters mentioned by some of the more skilled builders, but never actually tried them. Now, seeing them used in some of the entries here has made it much easier to visualise how useful they can be for all sorts of interesting effects.
