Why I HATE TS3
Ugh.. Where do I start? I feel like everyday this game is getting worse! I can't stand Sims 3 anymore, for multiple reasons:
1.) Rabbitholes... You literally can't go anywhere without having your sim disappear!
2.) Lag... Omg! I have to like, save my world every 20 minutes just in case the game crashes...
3.) Open World... UGHHGHGHGGH! So laggy....
4.) Graphics... I can't play games with terrible graphics... Ugh.
5.) CAS/Build Mode.... So terrible. Why are buy mode and build mode in separate categories? The furniture is so ugly and the default colors of furniture and stuff is so ugly I have to use Create A Style for every piece.
6.) Expansions- KATY PERRYS SWEET TREATS? What the actual heck. Showtime? World Adventures?

They really should stop making expansions for it and move on to something else...oh wait...

2, 3, 4) Don't play on a toaster. There are plenty of people who have lag-free games.
5) Then use CASt. You can't do that in 4, eh? At least you can recolour things. By the way, they are in separate categories to make things clearer.
6) World adventures is amazing. Showtime has freaking GENIES and I'm actually planning to try out the acrobat and magician careers soon, they could be nice. Give it a try.

In my opinion, concept and execution are two very different things. And the execution of said open world is plum.
Still, is this dude playing Sims 3 on a toaster or something?

1) You can download rabbithole rugs and build your own buildings such as the hospital to have a open hospital. Your Sims will still disappear in the little rabbithole room that they have built for the Sims that's in the medical career but you can still use the open part/s of the hospital for storytelling purposes...
I'm glad that we do have rabbithole building so that if I am playing a big family, I don't need to jump around in the world to make them do stuff as I know that they are doing things in the rabbitholes even though I can't see what they are doing. I can work on one or 2 of my Sims whether I'm skill building them up or having them out on a group outing together...
2)NRaas has mods that will help with the lag if you are not oppose to using mods...
I use Master Controller, Overwatch, Errortrap, Traffic as well as the Story Progression, Traveler and Career mods. The very first time that I used some of those mods such as the Errortrap and Overwatch, I got to see how many extra cars got removed from the world that I'm playing as well as how many extra TVs and radios that got turned off around 3am in my game and how many stuck Sims and animals that had to be unstuck. Stuck Sims and animals is one of the reasons for the lag in the game.
3) I love the open world. I love watching my Sims travel from point A to point B without loading screens...
4) The Sims 3 graphics don't look too cartoony like TS4 does. To me, the graphics in TS3 makes the world around me look more real than TS4 does...
5) I love using the CaP tool to add my own patterns into the game so that I can make my rooms match. I love using CASt when I'm in my game...
6) I don't care about the Katy Perry edition of the Showtime EP and I'm not too impressed with the KPST SP which I don't have but I do love the regular version of the Showtime EP and the World Adventures EP...
Since I do have the Traveler mod installed in my game, I can visit any of the worlds that I have installed in my game as well as take pets with me on vacations. I wanted the Traveler mod so that I can take Scooby-Doo to these worlds with the Gang so that I can have proper pictures and stories showing the Gang on their investigations...
All in all, I still love TS3 out of the 2 different Sims game that I have played in my life. TS2 was my first love until I brought and played TS3 and fell in love with the open world, CASt and the overall package. I downloaded the Sims 4 CAS demo and just couldn't get into creating a sim as I didn't like the tugging and pulling method...

Seriously just play something else and move on with your life.
1. Rabbitholes .... I like some of the rabbitholes. Granted, some I wish I had more interactions with, but giving everything else in the world, sometimes I just like sending my sim into a rabbithole job I don't have to control or a movie I can go do other things/be with other sims for an hour or two.
2. Lag.... Sorry... I don't have lag, or crashes.
3. Open world... probably my favorite part of Sims 3. It's much better than say, my sims just magically gaining skills and doing nothing productive while I go to a club or a spa.
4. Graphics.... I don't have terrible graphics, either. Game looks very good for me.
5.CAS/Build Mode ... while I do wish CAS was better with sims 3, it's not the worst... just slow. Build mode... I've yet to get to the point in my life that I am so lazy that I can't click a separate button to go between build and buy. I am a very lazy simmer, though, but I don't ever foresee two buttons doing me in.
6. I'll give it to ya. Sweet Treats (while not a EP.. .but a SP) was pretty silly. But I love all the EP's with Sims 3, even ITF which I really didn't think I'd care for, but it turns out... I really kind of love it, too.
MUCH MUCH more reasons that I LOVE the Sims 3. Too many to list. Sure, it has it's faults (show me one game that don't and I'll show you at least ten people that will disagree) but I truly love Sims 3. I'm sorry your not enjoying it. To each their own.
I don't see the point of this post. I mean, I know the Sims 3 forums are WAYYYYY less hate/anger filled than the Sims 4 section, but why try to bring that here? Can we not be happy in peace? Sheesh.
I don't use expansions anymore. Don't call me "mad" or "sassy", I am simply expressing why I do not like TS3. Many people say the same for TS4, do people say, "ooooh you're madddd"?
This is just my opinion, it is literally outrageous that I cannot even say why I do not like TS3 without being called things like "sassy" and have people say I'm playing on a toaster.

But the Sims 3 was released in 2009 you see...you might be caught in a feedback loop.

Actually ,people who are die hard ts4 fans are the first to jump your throat if you say something is wrong with it.ive seen it so many times in the last 2 years.its to be expected if you post in a section full of people who love the game your hating on

There are places you can take your sim in the open world without having them disappear, however, the more EP's then the more opportunities to have more to do. Not only that but since base game players can create their own open community lots. And you can download lots to put into your game from other players. FACT!

It's your computer. While everyone probably experiences lag, it shouldn't be enough to interfere with gameplay consistently.
4.) Graphics... I can't play games with terrible graphics... Ugh.
There is nothing wrong with the graphics and I think you are getting confused with you don't like the realistic aspect of the game. If you prefer sims to be stylized when it never existed in the first place, then yes TS4 is the game for you since it's art style is bright, colorful like some kids cartoons.

You know, just stick with the EASY game, TS4 because TS3 proves to be too difficult and unattractive to you. I don't know why you would even buy a game you don't even like or not done any research on beforehand.

KPST is not an EP, it's an SP. *Yawn* This wasn't much of a debate. First off, get your facts in order then a worthy debate can be discussed.

Feedback to whom? This is a community forum, your audience here is your fellow simmers. That's why your fellow simmers are responding. There hasn't been a TS3 development team in place to receive feedback for coming up on three years now. Even though it's still a currently being sold product, the game is what it is and it's not going to change on the EA end.
Your opinions are yours to have and enjoy. But the purpose of expressing them here and in this manner is what escapes all of us who congregate to discuss our games and help each other out with both inspiration for gameplay ideas and tech issues. Some come here to learn what it is about this version that still has so much appeal and we happily engage them in friendly conversations about it. That's not the tone you struck with your top post at all, sorry if you can't see that.
