Can't log in to my ID while in game

I can log in to Origin. I can log in to the forums. But when I use the SAME email address and password while at the opening screen of the Sims 3 game, I get a message: "The email address or password is invalid."

This is a problem that crops up for me every so often. Usually resetting my password at the Origin site will fix it, although then I have to re-login to all Origin / EA sites. That workaround is not working for me right now, however, and I'm extremely frustrated.

Does anyone have any ideas what I can do for this? Any folders/files that I can delete/remove/rename that might help resolve this?

Thanks in advance.

Try clearing your Internet Explorer cache and all cookies, disallowing the option to retain cookies for Favorites (assuming you are on Windows and not Mac). Even if you never use IE as a browser or have never set up Favorites, the game borrows its resources and they can get junked up.

If that doesn't help, it's probably a server issue on EA's end and nothing else can be done until they fix it.

I have Windows 10, which has Edge instead of IE, but I think the premise is the same. Chrome is my default browser, but there are some applications that automatically open Edge instead of Chrome. (I think they make calls to IE, and Windows 10 links Edge to IE calls.)

I will definitely try that, and will let you know whether or not that fixes it.

    Thanks!

Win 10 still has IE. It may not have a bright blue E icon leaping out like prior versions did and it may not be receiving external calls as often, but it's still got to be in there someplace as "explorer" is still embedded in the operating system. But by all means, clear both caches and complete sets of cookies if you can (IE and Edge). The worst that can happen is the inconvenience of having to re-enter some other non-sims related passwords that they may have been holding onto for you.

@igazor - Just wanted to let you know that clearing the cache (I didn't have to clear the cookies, just the history and cache) of Edge and IE fixed the problem. Thank you for the suggestion!
