Now I am not going to make this thread without showing pictures first to pursue people. I want people to get actual feelings to decided which artsyle they want in the game.

It is best to figure out the kind of artsyle for Sims 5. Cartoony, realistic, or between.

A bit off topic, but I had some ideas for Sims 5 while we are waiting 3 or 4 more years for it. It keeps me occupied.

1. Make characters appealing.
2. Not make them have weird facial expressions (unless for a humorous effect) and loose the creepy smile
3. No fake or lousy crying animations (I want the cries to feel like they mean it. At first tears start to drop and they cry softly without covering their eyes).
4. Please improve on skin, hair, and eyes. Skin was to bright and lacked in important detail, teeth were too little and looked really fake (not diverse enough...we need crooked, gapped, and bucked teeth), and hair was just badly textured (Poorly designed in Sims3. Sims 4 had great hair styles).
5. Please continue to make great clothes like you did in Sims 4.
6. Make traits that will actually show through your sim
7. Better family play (Have parents carry their children and make bonding interactions. Have the sibling love/rivalry system)
8. More ways to multi-task (A sim sitting down, reading a book, and chatting or sitting down, on laptop, and talking)



CAS- similar to Sims 4 with little improvements

-Hand size
-Height slider (sims won’t be super short or tall. Adjusted enough to work with animations)
-Favorite music, color, food and zodiac signs
-Up to 3 voices
-Up to 5 traits (teen and over)
-Recolor tool
-More ethnic hair


More traits-

Temperamental- rapid and unreasonable change of mood. Happy one minute and mad the other. Similar to bipolar disorder

Grumpy- not happy at all. Always in a negative mood and complain about everything
Positive moods are rare
When sitting, they look miserable and very quite (sulks)
Feeling miserable about life
Hates people and the world (not very friendly with people and may curse at the world)

Introvert- prefers to be by self and not necessarily shy. Maybe be awkward to talk to people

Extrovert- prefers to be around people and very social. Outgoing.

Paranoid- worries about if people are out to get them or people talking about them
-Scared of people and prefers to stay away

Cheerful- Very happy all the time and rarely in a negative mood. Very excited and energetic. May be sad or mad on rare occasions

Stoic- shows no emotion. Face is straight and barely smiles. Stoics may show emotion when something terrible happened to like their loved ones or triggered by a negative memory. Most stoics show their emotions on the inside

Weird- not normal around people. Different. People try to stay away or avoid talking from weird people.
Potty mouth- swears a lot

Sarcastic- always makes rude or smart remarks toward lost, slow, or dumb people or to say something rude. remarks that mean the opposite of what they say, made to criticize someone or something in a way that is amusing to others but annoying or offensive to the person criticized.

Chatty- a person who talks too much

Dull- makes people bored easily in conversations

Entertainer- makes people feel less bored. A mix of jokester and storyteller

Helpful/Supportive- helps people going through issues

Polite- treats people with respect

Impolite- very rude and not civilized. A mix of slob and mean spirited)

Impulsive- acting or done without forethought. Speaking or doing without thinking.



Teens

Mess Around- common for most teen couples.

Short relationships- won’t last long

Prom/Jubilee/Homecoming

For teens and kids

-Assemblies
-After school activities and clubs
-Sports practice
-Club meetings
-School projects/Science fairs
-Field trips
-Bullying system
-School suspension/expelled
-Homework from more than one class and daily class assignments

Carrying Sims around permanently
Different ways to carry sims- piggy back, cradle/bridal/princess, over the shoulder, or on hip (child and lower only)

New life stages- preteen and mid-age adult

Life stages improvements- teens will have a more youthful or baby face (some might look mature) to differ them from adults

Open world like GTA or any Final Fantasy game over 13.


Malls (with kids play area and food courts), apartments, motorcycles, factories, bars/night clubs, penthouses, grocery stores, beaches, tall buildings (like NY), taxis, cars (drivable taxis and cars), city bus, school bus, caffe, clothes store, gas station, hospitals, daycares, electronic stores, bakery, restaurants (and fast food restaurant with drive ins), candy shop, toy stores, kids clothing stores (like GAP, Claire’s, or Young Justice) and churches (made up religions to prevent controversy like Sims Medieval) and more!

Comic book stores (selling manga as well) and video game stores (selling games and consoles)


Colleges (University)
Academies or private schools

Ferris Wheels and merri go rounds (in parks)
Water parks

Hotels or motels

Cruise ships and planes (and private planes)


Chat while carrying items (cups or bags)


Sims should be affected by negative things or memories that happened back in the past.


Dance rehearsals, ballet, karate as hobbies

Sims can sit on the ground and chat (while doing other things like looking on laptop, tablet, phone, reading, or drawing)

Sketching on paper or in a notebook (making a comic)

golf courses and tennis

basketball, football, and baseball

Better babies than can crawl and toddle

I actually really like the character creation and aesthetics of this game called Black Desert. Very high and detailed level of customization, and the characters look realistic but just far removed enough so it doesn't land in the uncanny valley (the first two facial shots with the blue background sort of goes there)

For the most part, I think TS4 art style is nice, although I'm not a huge fan of the skin texture. Some of the shadows / contours on the face are just awkward.

Black Dessert is really nice. The two faces in the blue background is highly realistic and I don't Sims 5 will go that far.
