Things seem to be going well for Axane...but not so much for Cecilia!

The ladies really needed a home of their own, so I built them a starter house! It was quite a challenge, getting all the essentials in there at starter price, but with a little bit of help from depreciation, I managed it! There's practically no decor, so plenty of room for you to customize things!

Another thing you mentioned in your letter was that you love the tropical worlds. I wasn't 100% positive on which worlds you were including in that list, since there are a couple that could be on the list or left off, but I figured Sunlit Tides was pretty obvious. ;) Since you said you had never played a fairy, I decided to make one for you!

    Alexandra Gray:
    Screenshot-130_zpsk2zzxxgn.jpg

    thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=8969615

She's an eccentric artistic fairy who has decided to see what life is like in Sunlit Tides! She snagged herself a job in law enforcement to pay the bills, until she can figure out that whole art thing. But her real dream is to give out a bunch of magical makeovers! But first, she needs to go meet people in need of her help...

    Screenshot-129_zpswanraprk.jpg
She decided to chat up another of my sims, Joshua Eaton ( @ADWilson might recognize him ;)) But all that chit-chat was hard work, so she decided she had earned some relaxation time.
    Screenshot-128_zpstfsypwcp.jpg

She really wanted to join in on the holiday festivities, so she picked up a pumpkin at the festival and took it home to carve!
    Screenshot-139_zpsgvur4ixu.jpg

She ran into Joshua again at the poolside club, and promptly challenged him to a breath holding contest...which she lost. Oh well, at least it was fun!

    Screenshot-142_zpscwumymhw.jpg

And here she is taking some time out to relax and enjoy the beauty of Sunlit Tides (and also, to help test out your next gift!)

It's currently priced at just under $16,500, and is ready for you to add whatever extra touches you desire, since it has all those lovely empty surfaces in need of odds and ends!

You mentioned in your letter than you would be interested in a community lot. Since you had also mentioned enjoying the tropical worlds (and since I have a fondness for Roaring Heights, which is sort of a city/beach/vintage world combo) I thought I'd see what I could come up with! Did some glancing around and thought, vampires and other supernaturals really don't have a place to call their own. So, I took the Visitor's Center and turned it into a vampire lounge!

    Download: thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=8971005

It doesn't look like much on the outside...
    Screenshot-173_zpslnqx8zu2.jpg

But once you make your way through one of the two "visitor center" buildings...
    Screenshot-175_zpsfx4hr7gy.jpg

    And into the basement...
    Screenshot-170_zps52uwinkm.jpg

    You'll find an upscale lounge!
    Screenshot-167_zpsuunh7sgp.jpg

Behind the bouncer's ropes, reserved for the more renowned sims (or those who can afford to bribe the bouncer!) you'll find the spa area.
    Screenshot-168_zpsrp4v9eb2.jpg

Graham and Lola McCord were kind enough to help me test it all out for you. ;) Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it!

Wow! Cecilia and Axane look like such fun ladies. I'm super excited to have a witch and alien in my game - I've never had either! Thank you so much!

And Lucky Stakes - hats off to you, that's an amazing starter! I'm horrible making them and sticking to budgets, but this looks cute and perfect for two roommates just needing the essentials. :)

Witch and alien looks like an interesting combo... As a side note, I like that Axane is new to Lucky Palms of all places. Any Sims 2 fans out there?
    ;)<3

And I'm gonna have to agree with them^. Anyone who can make a starter - hats off to you!

Agreeing with what everybody else has written... a witch and an alien equals fun (obviously!)... what an awe-sim starter ~ full bath! large kitchen! two full size beds and dressers! ~ and the layout looks spacious and not cramped. Well done you.

That's awesome that you made these for your friend, but maybe post the pictures and PM her the links, just to make sure nobody takes them. People normally don't really care about 'reserved.' :) But great design for everything though!

@Bookworm742 Now that is a great starter house for 2 unrelated sims. I know just how hard that is to pull off - and you've managed to make it look nice, too! I haven't played Lucky Palms in a good long while, and I'm missing its style. I think I may just have to borrow your little house and give it a go sometime soon. :)

...it's totally possible that this is the biggest reason I ran with the idea, once the aliens started showing up practically every night while I was playing in LP.

@suzses It's definitely interesting...though that irresistible trait almost caused trouble, they were getting along so well they went to cuddle on the couch. And since I didn't want any romantic attachments for either of them, had to stop that quick! LP is one of those worlds I just keep going back to, it's so unique!

@aricarai budgeting is definitely the hardest part! If I didn't care about things like using the furniture and doors/windows I wanted, it would certainly be easier! Witches and aliens are two of my favorite life states! (I love the fairies and vampires too, but the length of their lives starts driving me nuts in my legacy families!)

@MsPrissy88 I thought about giving them a bunkbed or single beds, but that just didn't work with what I wanted for them, flexibility-wise...in my game, Cecilia is now making moves on Cid Serverus from University, and Axane is hitting it off with a sim I downloaded from the exchange. They needed space to do their own thing! ;)

@ADWilson & @ciane Thank you! Was a fun little challenge. Just wish there had been enough in the budget for a bit more decorating...some of the hacienda stuff would look perfect in there!

    @emilzydiva Thank you!

That's not actually what she means by "reserved". She was simply reserving those posts, so she could post her gifts throughout the span of several days, and still keep them all in one place on the thread.

Anyone else is allowed to download and play with the Sims / builds as they want. The fact that the gift was custom made for her buddy, just means that she followed what that person had said she was interested in in her letter. It's an Exchange exchange (pardon the pun), like a White Elephant exchange, where each person was assigned one person to create gifts for, and no one knew in advance who would be giving them gifts.

And... to keep on topic and not derail the thread, @Bookworm742, I just love that starter! I've played LP a few times; it reminds me of Arizona, where I spent a couple of months a year every year as a child and teen, visiting relatives. That starter fits right in, both inside and out. Good thing all Sims' houses are air-conditioned, living in that desert. ;) Heck, I think that starter might even look like one or two houses I visited during those years, so I want it for the nostalgia, if nothing else. :)

I'm like some of the others; I absolutely can NOT make a starter! Sticking to a budget is impossible for me in Sims 3, that's why I always end up using the free real estate cheat to move my Sims in when I start a new game. :)

And aliens! They do seem to want to show up more in some games than in others. I wonder why that is? :o

Gray might be her last name, but Alexandra is anything but gray in color and personality! An eccentric, artistic fairy who wants to give makeovers equals a lot of fun with much laughter ahead!!! Joshua Eaton is indeed a familiar face (or side profile, in this case!) and made me wonder where his lovely wife, Lily is. LOVE how you pulled another ST resident (created in an exchange for me!) out to play/meet your latest addition.

Alexandra is cute!! And the dress...? Yeah, I'm a fashion nut. Always going towards the prettiest, colorful fabrics. (at least in the sims. lol :D ) Having her live in LP will probably be a fun time (for me), as I've yet to play in that world. Oh, I've used the casino and the wishing well, of course.

    You did well !!!

@ADWilson It was actually kinda funny. Took Alexandra to a poolside club so she could meet people...and as soon as she walked in the door, Joshua and Lily showed up in their athletic wear of all things, lol. Lily promptly made a beeline for the pool, but Joshua hung around to chat for a bit. ;) They actually struck up a friendship and she keeps hanging out with him and the rest of his family.

@MsPrissy88 So glad you like her! I actually have her in Sunlit Tides atm, but she would do well in LP too! LP is actually one of my favorite worlds...so much room to add all those expansion community lots, and it's got such a unique atmosphere! Seems like half the town is pregnant, though...I have twallan's story progression set up so it prompts me to rename all the babies born in game (cause really, a sim with the last name Grantham and first name Siddhartha? I'm gonna pass on that. Or Einstein Sosa...both of which were default names EA came up with for new babies recently. XD)

@MiaSkywalker Thank you! Nostalgia can be a lot of fun in game...I know there are certain things that bring back my own childhood memories. ;) I'm always torn with design style in LP...on the one hand, the southwestern feel is perfect and I love it...but I also love that mid-century modern thing they have going too! My save of LP usually ends up having some of both, but it totally works there!

Love the newest house! I would call it a sha-ck, or.... maybe a beach house? Either way, it's perfect for Sunlit Tides! *another world I have yet to play in* lol

The starter for Alexandra is lovely! Great name, too. LOVE how you made use of the outdoor space with furniture and such on the decking, the chairs nestled in the living room corner is a nice change from trying to fit in a sofa and the blue tones are calm & soothing... just right for restful slumber so one can wake up to a new day/new beginning <- yes, I did go there :D
  • Bookworm742Bookworm742 Posts: 4,068 Member
@MsPrissy88 beach house works for me! ;) Sunlit Tides is a gorgeous world, but it's honestly not one that I play in that often. Not because I don't like it, but because I tend to have issues with things like my sims making it to work on time and stuff, cause it's huge and takes forever to drive from one side to the other, lol. And it's too shallow for dive lots. :( But it really is gorgeous!

@ADWilson  I find blue to be very soothing too. I probably use it more than I realize! Had fun bringing in the little pops of color, though, since Alexandra isn't the most tame sim I've run across...she's got too much personality to not add a little more character! ;)

Cecilia and Axane look like fun sims, and you've showcased them and their persoanlities so well :) I especially love that picture at the casino where one is delighted and one is...well, not quite so delighted! They look like great friends who like to have a lot of fun :)

Lucky Stakes is the perfect starter for LP. I hope you won't mind if I borrow it  I especially love the way you've done the fence! And the colour matches LP beautifully!

Fairy! <3 Alexandra is lovely; her dress is so pretty! And her starter home, wow! Perfect for Sunlit Tides! I don't even remember seeing those windows in the catalogue, but they're really nice :)

Rec, rec, rec, rec, rec :) Very nice!

Alexandra Gray is absolutely stunning and I'm so excited to play with a fairy!

And another starter - man oh man am I jealous of your skills! New Beginnings in Paradise is fantastic and very calming with the cool blue tones. I've got all these rec'd and I can't wait to get them in my game.

Thank you so much for taking the time to make me these fantastic gifts! They're fabulous - I really really appreciate it!
