Welcome To The Sims 3 Extreme Mustang Makeover Challenge!

Every year horse trainers around Simerica are given 100 days to gentle, halter and saddle train, gain trust and develop a friendship with an untamed wild horse that has never had human contact before. Trainers must eventually show and compete the mustang in the Extreme Mustang Makeover Competitions. Mustangs are selected and herded by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and housed in BLM facilities until they are picked up by their trainer. Over these 100 days trainers must tame and train the mustang, preparing it for domesticated life. The trainer then competes with the mustang in the Extreme Mustang Makeover Competition, doing their best to win cash prizes or come in first place, all while showcasing the beauty and trainability of the wild mustangs. When the competition is over, the trainer can then decide if they would like to keep the mustang or adopt the mustang out to an approved adopter.

Starting The Extreme Mustang Makeover
  1. Create a sim with either the "Animal Lover" or "Equestrian" trait. You can add any other traits you want after adding one of those traits.
  2. Now create your mustang. Your mustang must be natural colored and have the "Untrained" trait. You can add any other traits you want after adding that trait.
  3. Prepare a suitable space for your mustang. It should have a good sized pasture and a water trough and hay. Or, just buy a stall to add into your pasture so you don't have to buy water or food for your mustang. Adding horse "toys" and salt 🐸🐸🐸🐸 is recommended but not needed.
  4. Have your sim bond with your mustang before doing anything else with the mustang. Your sim can't mount or ride the mustang until they have the "Friend" status with the mustang.

Completing The Extreme Mustang Makeover
The things you MUST do to complete the challenge:
  1. Most importantly, have your mustang lose the "Untrained" trait.
  2. Have your mustang reach level 8 to 10 in the racing and jumping skills.
  3. Have your sim reach level 8 to 10 in the riding skill.
  4. Have won four competitions with your sim and mustang in first place in either racing or jumping competitions.
The things you don't have to do to complete the challenge, but add to your gameplay experience:
  1. Have your mustang socialize and become friends with one of each playable pet: cat, dog and horse.
  2. Have your sim ride your mustang bareback one or more times.
  3. Have your mustang complete a jumping course you made without them stopping before jumping.
  4. Have your mustang "visit the groomer", as in changing your mustang's mane and tail style one or more times.
  5. Have your sim and/or mustang watch and socialize with a "Wild Horse".

Feel free to post photos from your challenge or tell us your progress, and ask any questions you want answered! Happy simming and horsing!
