It's an issue, not a bug, since I know the problem.

Anyway, I put grass under my bird-feeder (with MOO) to make it look more... natural. Promptly, my Sim can't fill the bird-feeder. He can't walk on grass. Even though he wouldn't actually be standing on the grass to fill the feeder.

Obviously I removed the grass and all was well, but it feels like the plates issue all over - you have to worry about where you place your ankle high flowers and grass for fear of blocking a door. It really feels like something that could use some work.

Try doing a little testing and experimenting to see what works best/ or what doesn't cause issues. You may be able to still place items there that won't cause routing issues or issues with using the bird feeder item . Using terrain paint may help to give an effect. Try placing items without using the moo cheat.
Perhaps you may like to post pictures about the issue on the builders feedback thread, and simmers there may be able to suggest ways to achieve the same effect without causing issues with not being able to use the bird feeder.

It would definitely be nice (and more realistic) if sims could route over grass. Unfortunately, the grass that we have in the game right now is considered an object, just like any other object, and not something sims can route through or on. Perhaps the developers would consider adding a routable grass object at some point; I will add it to our list that rosemow linked.

You would have thought that the creators would have had the sense to allow sims to walk on the grass, the way that they can walk on rugs. Let's hope that some bright custom content maker comes up with a fix for this annoying feature.
