Well that would be dependent on you. Intel Core i7 is intended for gaming, while i3 and i5 are more mainstream. If you are happy with that and just more looking to upgrade from what you have, stores like Best Buy (if you live in the states or Canada) will have a great selection to choose from. Best option is to look for their Flash sales or big events (if you can wait that is) and get more bang for your buck, or look at their clearance or Open Box items as well. If you can, look for a laptop that has dual storage that allows you to keep your SSD (if possible).

Other things would be looking at more ram. I'd say a minimum of 8gb, although bear in mind that you'll want dedicated graphics NOT integrated. AMD or Nvidia are good choices. I love my AMD Radeon.

If all else fails, ask an expert at the store and let them know what you are running. Anyone who sells computers who is worth their salt will know exactly what you need, I'm sure they would still recommend a gaming laptop though; because the other thing to be wary of is making sure that the laptop COMES with an optical drive. Nowadays, it is hard to find a laptop that has one (unless you are using digital downloads then it wouldn't matter) But basically a lot of the laptops that do come with one are ones designed for gaming because a fair number of gamers actually want a disc version not a digital copy.

I recommend moving this thread to TS3 Tech section. That budget is a little tight if you must have a laptop. Desktops are cheaper and stronger.

Also, I myself have an ASUS, I play a couple of games on it, but mostly Sims 3, with all packs, full store and all worlds. Just everything there is. Even a little bit of CC :#

My laptop has aan Intel i5, 6GB ram and an Nvidia Geforce 720M (yeahh, she's pretty old already!). Works like a charm for me. She cost 550 euros back then.

But I also want to say, specs isn't everything. My man his laptop is also an ASUS, he bought it for about 1000 euros. Intel i7, 8GB ram, Nvidia Geforce something, 500GB SSD and that laptop is slower than snails. It really is garbage! And it isn't viruses, I download more than him and I practically never download anything.

So before you buy anything always check for reviews online!

Disclaimer; English probably bad, 3am, can't sleep because of pain, am tired though ;)

Laptops come with two video cards. If your mans laptop is not running properly it may be because the games are not using the correct video card. I have a high end asus laptop and runs the sims 3 fine. I have a 770m. You would notice the diffrence playing the sims 3 on a card better than the 720. Im surprised you can get the game to run on a 720. Its a very low end card not meant for gaming and way below requirements for this game

Laptop to play all of the sims 3

    Nvidia GTX 960m or better

Processor i7 HQ or MQ quad

At least 8gb of computer ram

at least 500 gb hard drive space. Having an SSD would be better than HDD. The sims 3 loads much better and quicker on SSD

Again really. You starting back with buying more computers. You must own 100 computers by now . No that laptop will not run the game

    Assuming this is the laptop...

You would possibly be able to play with around low-medium (mainly low) settings. You will most likely struggle with demanding expansions, such as Pets, Into the Future, Seasons, and Island Paradise.

The Acer I posted above is a much better choice.

If you must need a more cheaper alternative, this Lenovo Y700 14-inch ($699) would be a much better choice - mainly a quad-core Intel i7 CPU (latest Skylake)and a GPU that is better than the GT 940M.

    Radeon R9 M375 vs. GT 940M

But you would be much better off with the Acer I posted above, since a GTX 960M is more recommended than others. :)

I strongly recommend asking your parents about the Acer if possible before jumping aboard the Lenovo. :)
