I always try to play in cc world. But I feel lonely there. Always I come back to EA worlds. I'm lazy at adding other households in empty worlds. I like Monte Vista, Sunlit Tides, Isla Paradiso, Bridgeport, and Twinbrook.
Sunset Valley definitely! Maybe because of the nostalgia, but that world's just awesome! But well, then again only other ones I have are riverview and bridgeport in sims 3 x)
The world's I cannot live without would be Sunset Valley and Bridgeport. I like the apartment complex settings for Bridgeport, and the community setting for Sunset Valley.
I absolutely adore playing in Dragon Valley with my sims. What with allthe elves and stuff. it became a joke with me and my friends that whenever i start a new family, they automatically assume that im going to start it there
Bridgeport is one of my favorites but the lag is so unbearable.
My favorite store world would have to be Lucky Palms. I absolutely love the casino and everything.
I also like Los Angeles by Descargas (has a file for cc that includes clothing, a Ferris wheel etc. ) this world wa made to kind of be like a mini fan made expansion.
Finally I've been thinking about downloading Union Cove by Carls Sims 3 Guide because it just looks so amazing.
Been playing Aluna Island by thesimsupply. It's a small coastal world, mostly empty but has all the necessary rabbitholes and amazing venues. He also made some stunning houses to be downloaded separately for the world and I love it so far.
Somehow, I always find myself coming back to Sunset Valley. I've been meaning to get more familiar with others but I think I like SV because it and its inhabitants are so familiar. I know all of the regular families and have played almost all of them. Other than that I've played Elvira in Bridgeport and that's it, which I want to change. I'm glad this thread is a thing; I'll probably take some recommendations from here.
I really just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone in this thread for the recommendations! My favorite world has always been Sunset Valley. This is probably (in part, at least) because I started playing The Sims 3 when it first came out and it was the only one available, lol. I just feel HOME there. I recently bought Monte Vista and it looks absolutely spectacular(!), but I haven't really tried it too much yet. I could never get into Riverview and Hidden Springs (which came with Monte Vista) doesn't look all that appealing either, but maybe I just need to spend more time in them. Someday, perhaps. With each world being so customizable, I could probably spend years in any of them.
I'm currently just getting back into The Sims 3 after many years of neglecting one of my favorite games of all time. I bought all the expansions I didn't already have (everything post-Generations) and am overwhelmed with content and worlds to try.
[Although thanks to my new PC, I've learned that most of my sims (which I thought were good-looking at the lower resolution/detail my old PC could handle) are actually ugly as heck. So now I'm spending all of my time using Builder's Island to get into CAS (4 seconds!) so I can create a whole new crop of sims that actually look humanoid (and sometimes downright beautiful, IMHO). I hope to one day actually play the game again, lol.]
I wish I could add my own recommendations, but every user-created world I've looked at (and then some) has already been mentioned here. I haven't tried any of those yet (ever), but I was already leaning toward getting Legacy Island 3 and this thread pretty much cemented that one for me.
I love love love Monte Vista. It's so beautiful, quaint and peaceful, if I was a Sim I'd definitely want to live there. My second favorite is Appaloosa Plains, I just love the autumn theme and the scenery. It gives off very "home-y" small town vibe. Third favorite is probably Sunset Valley, it reminds me of parts of southern California that I have visited and absolutely adored.
I must say I love Sunset Valley; it is definitely one I always play. Admittedly, though, I love My Sim Realty's worlds. She just such a wonderful job with them and I especially love the Monte Vista lighting.
I would have to say all of them. They all whether it be Midnight Hollow, Sunset Valley, Twinbrook, Dragon Valley etc.... have there own unique charm and the same goes for the sims that live there.
I'm just a little bit crazy LOL
Okay actually I'm totally and completely nuts LOL

I hear ya. Sunset Valley is where it all began. It's the home hood my legacy grandparent sims always live when I've got next gen sims living in other linked worlds like WA, Oahu, London & other EA worlds. I always use Traveler and send the kids home from College or on vacation for the holidays. No matter how seductive the vast number of custom & EA worlds I've played, SV will always be home for me and my sims

A lot of the lag is caused by EA's really dumb building mistakes.

If only there are dive lots in Bridgeport.. I can't create dive lots there because the game is crashing...
