Hi everyone! ...Yeah a new drifter challenge unveiled! ... sorry I haven't been around much, but I've been a bit busy. My son came to visit with his girlfriend. Which was great and kept me busy and away from my computer for a whole week! LOL I really missed him a bunch .. he didn't get to come home last year ... so it was wonderful just to enjoy his company while I could!

I am looking forward to this one! Thanks Vi, it sounds like it is going to be lots of fun. I can hardly wait to see and read everyones spy adventures! B) and just in time .. isn't there a new 007 bond movie coming out real soon? B)<3B)

    Welcome back @tammyjo329 !

Well I'm doing my original family first. Rodriguo married an alien lady and they have two children, unfortunately neither of them have the alien skin. I'm pretty bummed.

Edit: This is pretty cool though. Their younger child has the same color eyes her mother has when she's in alien form.

I will be doing this challenge but not right away. I have some real life stuff going on that is taking my attention right now. Everything is okay just a bunch of changes and so I am on the phone more and I am having to scale my play time down a tad. So, yeah I will be doing this but maybe won't be till next week. We will see how much time I have the next couple days. :) Once again an awesome challenge I can't wait to start.

If you recall Dawson was a secret agent and my heir looks almost just like him. Funny how those genetics come back so it will be fun for me to play him as a secret agent. I already have some ideas for underground which to be honest- I really don't like playing in basements much but this will be different due to them being secret agents. I have some ideas for how I will do this already.

I am almost ready to move on to house 009. All the requirements are done, I just have to wait for my heir to grow up in five sim days. I have already started planning the underground lair for my secret agents. So I have a question, we are not allowed to have full walls, but are we allowed to build the high security fences around the lot?

So I was playing my first family for a bit but I got bored and decided to get my Ugly drifter rolling. Meet Zelda's husband/spy partner, Marvin
    W2hyknC.png

No kids for them yet, but they're crazy about each other, despite Marvin's penchant for horrible sweaters.

I've been following your Rosebud challenge and waiting to see their kids!

I haven't been playing a lot lately, been getting too hyped over Get Together, thinking about all the clubs I want to form then I get depressed that I can't form them yet. :D I actually bought Sims 3 awhile back to try out and have been playing that a bit, pondering if I want to buy any expansions for it as I have been enjoying it.

    @MocaJava Marvin is awesome! :wink:
I've already pre-ordered & paid off my copy of Get To Work...& I can't wait. My ideas r already turning about future Drifter Houses as well LOL
I have all expansions & all worlds & pretty much everything on the Sims3 store....if u have any questions about the stuff..don't hesitate 2 ask. I know a lot of that content is now lumped into bundle packs...so u might b able 2 snag some REALLY good deals on them!

Thanks @vihisha I've been looking over Carl's Guide on the various EPs for Sims 3 and the two that jump out at me the most right now are Ambitions (mainly because of the paranormal career) and pets (because furbabies!). I've read a few complaints though that the careers in Ambitions has some bugs much like the GTW careers do (mostly police in my experience, tend to get the 'can't find the suspect' bug). Though I would also like seasons. I have the TS3 that came with Late Night and the High-End Loft stuff. I feel weird though paying $20 for an EP when that's what I paid for the game itself.

edit: I just looked on eBay and there's a lot of EPs on there for less than they're selling through Origin...may go that route.

Yeah...I'd definitely look online & shop around...obviously full price from Origin or any store u might still find TS3 @. I liked ambitions when it 1st came out...but it is very buggy IMO...but then again a lot of that game is heh. Seasons added a lot of fun 2 the game. It's prolly 1 of my favorites!

My favorite for TS3 was Pets.
  • Glimmer50Glimmer50 Posts: 2,365 Member
I liked Supernatural much to my surprise and pets, generations brought about some family play that was needed at the time and I loved seasons. The Green House and the stuff that made babies walk and talk was my favorite store objects EVER. I hated teaching toddlers to walk and talk ever single time otherwise they got bad traits. No options.

Ambitions was to buggy for me to really get into. I tried the fireman route and my top of the line pc at the time couldn't handle it.

I think TS3 was a great concept ( the open world was really a great idea )and if you could get it to run without all the lag it was a fun game. The only thing is I thought the Sims were robotic to some extent and it was the first Sims game I ever played. I played them more from a distance whereas Sims 4 I play up close.

They are different games to be sure though so you have a different experience with each of them. I think that is the greatest thing about the games. They are all different. Have fun with whatever you decide.

If I had to pick an EP, I think it would be seasons. It added so much to the game. Pets was fun too but Supernatural added better vampires. I liked them. :)

I ended up buying all stuff packs and expansion packs for TS3 except for supernatural. Seasons is another favorite. Good choice.

Hmm yeah maybe I'll skip Ambitions. Seasons sounds like it might be good to start with because I really miss having seasons in my game. I was looking over Carl's info on Supernatural and I wouldn't mind having that one either. I kind of like the fairies, in TS4 I made a guy with CC butterfly wings and blue skin and have been pretending he's one :D

Thank you all for the advice! <3

Yeah with the way you like to play with different looking Sims I think Supernatural would be right up your alley and Seasons..well it is just a must have. Good choice. :)

Ambitions came w/vacation destinations & mini-quests of sorts that I personally thought were pretty fun....but it's 1 of the expansion packs that not as many players prefer. I rather enjoyed the adventure aspect....but it's not 4 everyone.
