sims freeplay/sims 3 question,

hi my last sims game i played was sims when it came out like late 90s early 2000s? i dont remember lol but got sims 4 and blowned away with it, then started doing reserch which i do for every game to try and find upcoming content etc, and sims 3 and freeplay seems loaded with tons of more stuff, so my question is. which has more content freeplay or sims3? 400$ to complete sims 3 set so i wanna know if its the bigger game before i commit to it.
