I have had a request to extend this current competition to end after Seasons pack comes out so that you guys may use some of the new items. Please let me know if you would like it extended one extra week
Yes this would be great! Though here in the Netherlands it usually releases a little later then in most other countries, the release is planned for the 22nd on 07:00 pm (CET). The deadline is set for 11:00 pm in my timezone, so 4 hours to download and install the new pack. Getting to know the new pack and then adjusting the chalet with snow and other atributes. Taking good pictures of the chalet, uploading the pictures to imgur and posting the pictures in this thread with the entry form.
I'm not sure if i can get it done in time
I have decided from the feedback to extend the current challenge by one week so that people who buy the new seasons pack may use the objects in this challenge. As the challenge is not judged it will have no effect against those people not purchasing the pack as everyone will still earn a Maxis nomination.
New end date/time:
Entries Close: Saturday 30th June 8am (GMT+11 Australian time)
To help this is:
USA (EST) 6pm Friday 29th June
UK (GMT) 10pm Friday 29th June
@Cbear13 Thanks! I love that!
Yeah I know there are lots of walkarounds to make landscape snowy but I am so happy, we are allowed to use the real snow. Yeah!
You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.

Notes about entry:
Nestled deep in the Snowy mountains lies the Heart of Snow. This Ski Chalet which hangs off of a cliff face features 2 large bedrooms and 3 bathrooms(and on site laundry!) complete with large kitchen/dining, a bar and game area, a spectacular view of a wind weathered snow covered natural made rock arch from the livingroom or deck which features a hot tub, and a natural hot spring down below on solid ground for your snow loving sims to relax in, or if its too cold for them let your sims steam in the sauna which is also included in the chalet! The Heart of Snow does NOT have any tvs on the premises.
Notes about the build: I don't know WHY but the rock arch out front is having lighting issues. I had to put some of the rocks on a built platform which is causing the lighting issues im pretty sure even though there are no walls built. It frustrates me because i don't like the way it looks but if i didn't include the platforms some of the rocks would disappear and i couldn't figure out why. DOES require MOO to place i believe...i always build with MOO on and this has heavy use of MOO. the rocks DO clip into each other otherwise it looks unnatural. The support beams on the underside of the lodge are meant to clip into the existing rock i wanted to make it look like most of the "nature" was left untouched and the chalet was built around the rocks and mountain. There would be more "mountains" behind the house but honestly a 40x30 in my opinion is just too small to really get a mountain look.(i think a 50x40 would allow for more creativity and space for mountains. I ran into the problem of i had placed rocks and went to place the build on a different lot to make sure nothing disappeared and almost all the rocks in the build did because the lot is small.)
Heart of Snow is a very nice Chalet! @VagueNightmare The design of the outdoors areas looks great! The way that you have used the large rocks for the mountainous/cliff area looks great! Very nice exterior design of the chalet building! The snow topped roofing is a nice touch. Very nice hot tub deck. Sims will have very nice views whilst relaxing in the hot tub. Very nice spacious open plan kitchen. dining and entertainment area! The brown wooden texture of the furnishings looks warming and suits the build type well it looks very nice how the cabinets have been placed on the walls. The kitchen wall tiling looks nice. It is great that there is an island sink and workbench counter. The dish rack and fruit bowl are homely touches on it. Sims will have fun playimb foosball, darts amd llama tabletop game, after either enjoying a meal at the dining table or sitting on the stools at the bar having a drink. The mounted fish is a great touch on the wall. Very nice furnishing of the bedrooms . The snow scene picture on the wall in the main bedroom suits the theme well! The floor rugs add a nice look to the rooms. The sofas look great placed face to face in the living room, for Sims to chat. Sims will enjoy resting and reading a book there. The double fireplace is a great design touch!
It is a very nice Chalet!
Thank you @rosemow ! I spent a long time on this I finished it a bit ago but I feel solid in how awesome it looks(wasn’t sure if it needed more to it or not) lol so I decided to share it so others can get ideas! I did a lot of google image searching to see what a ski chalet looks like as I’ve never been to one! I wanted this destination to not have electronics because who wants to be watching tv or on the computer when you’re at a ski resort surrounded by mountains, snow, and other fun outdoor activities!
Your pics looks great @coolsim9999999 I'm glad your enjoying the new game play I dont have it as yet but soon but for now I'm enjoying what other simmers are posting in the Seasons picture thread for now
