When i tried running my Game through Origin after it installed i get a message popping up saying "Unable to Start: Origin is currently not running. Please make sure that Origin is running before attempting to play The Sims 4 [d3382ced:984c6a38:00000000:000000000]"
I don't get why it isn't working. i just installed it onto my computer and it gets this.
I have all Sims 4 content. I am running on Windows 10 and my Origin is most definitely running since i run it through origin and Shortcut. can someone help??

Uninstall and reinstall Origin and see if that helps.

Ok i did what you said but now i keep getting this message: "Unable to start: Cannot start because required game data is missing or damaged. Please try reinstalling the game. [85262c58:29f00e76:00000000:00000000]" but the thing is i tried reinstalling it but it still does it.

Remove any mods/cc that you have and see if that helps. If it does help, then put your mods/CC back into the mods folder one by one or in batches and testing the game after each one to see which is the cause of the problem.

Hello @tambrey03 Uninstalling and reinstalling origin will not effect your packs that you have bought for sims 4. They will still be there in your my games section when you reinstall origin. The packs are linked to your origin account, not to the origin program file.
You can see the packs by clicking the sims 4 picture in Origin. Click the little "i" button that is next to the play button. That will take you to a screen that shows you what game packs, stuff packs and eps you own.

Hello.
Remove any cc/mods from your game and see if that helps.
Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then try to start the game. If you can start the game, a new sims 4 folder will be generated . Exit the game and then add back the "options.ini" file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders.
Try switching back to 32 bit mode and see if that helps.

Try right clicking the origin icon on the desktop and clicking " run as administrator " and see if that helps.
If the issue remains after that, try switching back to 32 bit mode.

Simmers that have installed the game by disc or by digital download both need to play the game through origin. It doesn't alter which way you bought /installed the game, all simmers need to use origin.

Before the Origin days....do you think we just clicked the shortcut on desktop to launch the game? pffft
@pauleneusknight It is true that you don't need the origin icon to start the game but using the method you mentioned will still open up origin first, regardless of having a disc or not. The use of origin is only necessary since Sims 4, that's why you don't have to use it when you play other iterations of sims.
PS: rosemow and others are only trying to help. I get that you are angry that your game does not work but still try to be respectful to people who are trying to help in this forum. If the mentioned methods don't work, try adressing your issue in the ea thread that rosemow linked to

also....to answer your question....yes...i read the forum link she gave me....nothing worked....period....hell i even reformatted and went back from windows 10 to 8.1...
heres the issue....EA is so hell bent on preventing piracy that they created Origin....But....they have also hurt their PAYING customers because of Origin....ORIGIN NEEDS TO DIE!!! Period lol
PS: Your opinion on origin should not influence the way you communicate with people on this forum because it's not their fault that origin doesn't work for you.

i was able to get a download of every single update....turns out i was missing a few....

I cut my Sims 4 folder from C:/Program Files 86/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4... to DESKTOP....and now....da da da daaaaa!!! IT WORKS WITHOUT RUNNING ORIGIN AT ALL!!! So to answer you....NO....Origin is not running NOW.....but when the issue occurred Origin was running yes...but heres what youre not understanding......my game was working PERFECTLY FINE....before i installed Get Together...also want to know what?? The game also launched WITHOUT Origin running.....
but now everything works fine and Get Together is installed and working and all is good in the world....but...GUESS WHAT??!! ORIGIN is NOT running!! And the game is RUNNING!!! HAHAHAHH /win

good to know that you resolved the issue by updating the game and resetting your The Sims 4 folder (a new one is generated when you move it somewhere else and that resets it like rosemow suggested here:
