Choosing the right PC

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me regarding computers. I am thinking about buying a computer to play sims 3 on as my laptop is 4 years old now and pretty beat up!

I've found two computers and was wondering if anybody could give me any advice on them.

LENOVO H50 Desktop PC with AOC - i2369Vm Full HD 23" IPS LED Monitor with MHL
Windows 8.1
Intel® Core™ i5-4460 Processor
Memory: 8 GB
Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 705
Hard drive: 2 TB

This computer is at £550 which is the most expensive I really want to go. After doing some research myself I found out the graphics card is pretty rubbish, but would it be okay for playing on medium settings with little lag? Or maybe updating the graphics card if it really is terrible?

I also found the updated version of this desktop

I'm assuming this one is better but it's £780 But would it be 100% worth the more expensive price???

Sorry for the heaps of questions! If anyone could give me some advice I would appreciate it so much!!

**Also, I am not a huger gamer. I become obsessed with Sims for about a month and then wont touch it for 6!!

Unfortunately i dont think you will find something worth buying at 550.
If you could save up a little more and get something like this :

this is a custom config, But if you did save up a little more, you could open a new thread when your ready to buy and we could add another config for you.

Thank you both. I actually went to the PC shop near me today and they didn't have either PC in stock anyway so no worries there! Thanks Summer, yeah I read the same about the graphics card so you're probably right it's not worth it.
Thanks Chester, I really don't want to waste my money on something thats not worth it so thanks for the advice!

However the last one only has 2.2Ghz which I dont think is as great?

Agree with chester. Get a custom so you know every piece of hardware that goes into the computer. Buying computers off the shelf they will mix good hardware in with generic. Also doing custom the computer can be upgraded. Not all shelf computers can be upgraded.

Ok, I think I will save up my money for a little longer then and get something worth having. How do I go about creating my own desktop? I've tried doing research but I find it so confusing. Thank you for the help.

When your ready just PM or page chesterbigbird. Chester can do a custom configuration on line and you can just buy the computer from their configuration. Chester has been building for years.

This one is better. Has a better and newer video card with more vram however I don't like that it states not returnable ask @chesterbigbird what they think

I will will still say custom is better.

The pc you linked was ok, however custom would be better because you know exactly what your getting (as in brand names of each part.. And quality.)
