Is it just me or the game is just plain..boring ?

I was given the Sims 4 as a gift, I didn't actually buy it as I already had the Sims 3. So now two months later, I'm just bored of it. Same things over and over, rinse lather, repeat. I thought with Get to Work maybe the game might get a bit more interesting, it sadly did not for me. Outdoor Retreat is a joke and I'm still hoping for something cool enough to happen so I don't uninstall it . The only fun part so far is the CAS, which is to be honest better than it used to be. Lately I'm finding myself running it just to try out CC and do some Sim modeling. Game-play ? not so much. The worlds just suck..they're too small and restrictive. I want cars and shopping back, I want open worlds. I want to actually feel that my Sims do have a life outside of specific settings ( house/workplace). Should I keep hoping or just go back to Sims 3 ?

The only thing that keeps me excited and interested is making my own CC

Yeah, I'm finding myself going back to TS3 more and more...

I think they just kind of dropped the ball with this game. Of all the EPs they could have put out for us... they choose one that's akin to Ambitions? They say that they're listening to us... and yet they're proving otherwise. It's pretty clear to me that the most wanted things are stuff similar to "Generations", "Seasons", "Pets", and even "Supernatural" although I think that one is wanted less than the other three are. So they give us interactive careers instead. Yes because that's exactly what everyone was saying they wanted...

Don't bother asking us what we want if you're going to ignore it.

if you dont like the closed worlds and load screens, the small worlds, too much linear game play, too few things to do in base game and others bad things in the game not gonna be "stacking packs" which will fix it, this will only make you waste money and still find yourself boring, it's abou game mechanic which is obvious what you don't like.

then yes if you can't stand for sims 4 gameplay then go back to sims 3, i'm playing it now and very happy and don't really miss anything in sims 4 since i get a good amount of mods which fix and improve a lot of things for me, just focus in play what you believe is fun.

if you honestly think which just by buying and stacking packs will save the game then keep play otherwise no.

Get out while you can. Cut your losses and go back to Sims 3.

I stick to 2 and 3. I only use 4 when I want to play in CAS.

what i really sad because waste a huge amount of money just to use CAS or build is something which make the game really don't be good even at half price since you using even less than half of the game.

I play 4, go back to 3, rinse and repeat. I get bored very fast with 4 and with 3 I have so many more options.

I bought Sims 4 when it came out and I enjoyed it to begin with but its not what I was really wanting or expecting from a Sims game. So many aspects of my play are repeated in the sims behaviour and personalities that its hard to play without getting bored. (Not to mention missing family play).
    :-(
Sadly my Sims don't feel unique and special anymore. I feel very sad about it :-( I've played Sims 2 for 10 years and not long ago I purchased the Sims 3 base game and quite recently I added a few exp. packs. I feel very amazed by Sims 3 with all that it offers, such a rich experience with so much room for creativity and the overwhelming (for me at first) but wonderful open world- wow :-) I've experienced some Sims 3 bugs and lag, but for me its worth it. I think though that the Sims 2 will always be my first love in the Sim game world, so much depth :-)

I'm not really that happy about CAS either to be honest. Sliders S3 style work fine for me too and the sliders in 4 (because there are sliders, even when you control them by clicking on the face) are as limited as in Sims 3. I do like the preset faces you can choose from - especially the different ethnics which is way better than in 3 - but I just really don't like what they did to the eyes. It spoils the faces for me. And in the game all this pushing and pulling turns out to be a waste of time, they all turn out the same. The game has about five or six different preset looks for sims, no matter what you do.

Yes it is it's just gets too monotonic because there aren't lot of fun and interesting activities to do plus the too small worlds with little of sims, very limited activities to do

No you are not alone. But interesting finding out quite a few fellow Simmers were bored as well after two months of game play. But yes I have the Sims 2 UC to keep me entertained. The Sims 1 is a ton of fun to play still as well.

Oh, I loved the Sims 1! I still do. Sometimes, when I feel in the mood for some goal-oriented play as a superstar, or if I wanted more simplistic play, I'll go back to my Sims 1 game (plus expansions). :)

I loved the Sims Superstar. I have that EP, Livin' Large, and Vacations. I love them all. I think most of the time I sent Sims for mud baths in that game, so they had lovely spa days. It was quite challenging the careers with those. I guess that is the first time the Sims introduced active careers into the franchise.

Loving Superstar so far! I never had most of the EPs for Sims 1 and Sims 2 until recently, so it's cool to explore the various expansion packs. I only had Nightlife for Sims 2, and Hot Date and Livin' Large for Sims 1 for many years.

Now, I have pretty much all of the EPs for Sims 1, 2 and 3. The only EPs I don't play or buy are the Pets ones.

Cool. Yeah I'm enjoying having the Sims 2 UC. I'm basically playing the Sims 1 and 2. I uninstalled the Sims 3 when the Sims 2 UC came out to make room for that and the Sims 4. But I am starting to miss the Sims 3 even if I didn't love it at the time until mods came out for it. I want to get all the EPs for Sims 1 next. That's nice you are enjoying Superstar. I've heard good things about all the EPs for the Sims 1. I really want to try out Makin' Magic for gnomes that actually move.

After reading this thread, I just realize I miss TS3 so much :'(
I loved the open world, the family play (and I never did a Legacy in TS3 - crazy!), I even have a new profound love for the REAL teens (you know, the shorter-than-adult-ones), and even the little monst* ehrm* I mean cute little toddlers that I used to hate!
I miss, buying my first car, a slow ugly one, and then get a nicer one when the money started rolling in, I miss pets (at least in a big open spaced house where I didn't have to trip over them all the time), and above all else I miss "In to the future". Just going through the portal, to my "in-the-future"home, and live a completely different life there.
I do not miss the bugs, but with the splendid list of mods in this thread, I might experience less than before, and even if I don't, I don't care, it will still be worth it!

TS3 (the love of my sim-life) here I come ♥

wow guys awesome responses :) I'm glad I'm not the only one who just lost interest. It's rather tragic though, this game could've been awesome if it wasn't just plain "unfinished". I feel EA served us an empty fancy plate with fork and knife and no actual food. I hope they can still redeem themselves and at least save the game's name.
