Collection Count Not Correct - Items Missing

Collection count is not correct in my current saved game. I am a bit perturbed by this turn of events. The Surley household had completed the Metals, Crystals and decorative Eggs collections. They had also completed the Aliens collection. I was able to go back to an earlier version of the same save (from April 30th before the Aliens collection was completed) to verify I was correct.

Besides going back to the previous save or recollecting the same items is there a way to correct this?
The game was repaired before I even opened to play. As a matter of fact I had repaired the game, added Sims via Manage World to other houses, saved Quit, Repaired again and then opened the game to play.

For the record:
Windows 7 - Desktop - Never had Mods or Custom Content.
Own Outdoor Retreat, Get to Work and Holiday Celebration Pack and have the most recent Patch (April 2015).

Hello.
If you still have the missing crystals, metals, and eggs, put them back into your inventory, and the collections may then show up as being completed.

Problem was I had sold the majority of the collected items.
I did still have the 5 3 of 4 space rocks on the lot. Putting those in personal inventory did count.
The older save was still there even though some skills and such were not yet Maxed. My Scientist (Curt) had already been at level 10 for a while. His Clone (Jonah) was Okay because he had only been keeping house and gardening. Jonah's daughter had just aged to YA in the old save and only been in the Doctor career a few days. I decided to cut my losses (and only cry a little) and go back to that save.

Ahem I think I figured it out..... I am the one who broke the collections in this save.
*Deep Breath* This is the save with Curt, Jonah and Muun Beam Surley. I wanted to share Muun Beam as a single Sim household so waited until she had her YA birthday. I saved the game after she blew out her candles. Then I created a second save (different name) and went to Manage World to temporarily send Curt and Jonah to another household. That was the 1st mistake.
After restyling Muun Beam and making sure she has the Science objects in her inventory I uploaded her and put Curt and Jonah back. I saved and Quit.
When I went to play the next time I made the 2nd mistake. I should have gone to the older version and continued from there. BUT instead I did what I usually do and started the most recent save game. Curt and Jonah had done the bulk of the collecting. My guess is the came recalculated the Collections tally based only on Muun Beam.
Luckily I had checked when I did and had not made much progress. I went back to the save and replayed from her already celebrated YA birthday.

Collections Restored - Game Progressing Nicely - My face is very red.

It is great that you have worked out the cause of the collections not showing up right and that you have been able to restore the collections to how they were.

I feel silly now that I figured out what happened. Hopefully by sharing I can help someone else.
