Can't put things in my inventory

I can't place anything in my inventory (in Buy mode and not in Buy mode). Whenever I try to, I get the hand tool and it won't place the object in my inventory and claims that I have multiple items in the hand tool and then I am tuck using the hand tool aa a cursor and my sim can't open their fridge.

Hi, @choran929, I think, you have the same bug as that been discussed here: http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/comment/13406292
I have experienced the same thing for both inventories = family and sim personal inventory.
I hope, that you'll find solution for it there
(+ saving frequently under different names helps too, then after reloading game (after cleaning caches http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Sims_3_Delete_Cache_Files) inventory for some time will stop to make bad jokes)
