Sims game wont start up

I've never posted on here but this is my last option, I'm super stressed as this game was a lot of money and now the stupid thing wont work, each time I load it a little grey box appears in the left hand corner and wont expand and when I click the cross it says not responding. This has been after I updated the new orgin thing, I hate that as it slows my game down anyway and its just a general problem anyone know how to turn it off? Sorry if I posted in the wrong place I need my sims fix and I'm well to annoyed to read rules. any help will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

On my origin i can press play for my sims, the origin will disappear as if sims was about to start up, but no...Origin will pop back up and my game will never load. I've tried repairing the game, I've even tried as administrator, it still did it. I even took out my mods folder, it still wouldn't work. I need help!

Try shutting down your computer completely. Start the computer again, then log into Origin, and try to launch the game and see if that helps.

Try turning off origin in-game and see if that helps. To do that, go to Game Library in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture. Click on “Game Properties”. Then untick the box that enables origin in-game


Try starting the game in windowed mode

If you still have issues try uninstalling and reinstalling origin and see if that helps

Could you please post your DxDiag info here.
To gather a DXDIAG on your computer, do this :
Press and hold the Windows key and the letter R on your keyboard
You will see a Run box in the lower-left corner of your screen
Type dxdiag in the text field
Click OK
Click the Save All Information button, found on the bottom of the DXDIAG report

After you have saved your dxdiag info on your computer, go to the pastebin site https://pastebin.com
and copy/paste the dxdiag info into the white box there. Press the button to create the new paste/pastebin text file.
Then post here in this thread the web address of your dxdiag info that is on the pastebin site. You will need to replace the http in the address with h.t.t.p as you are a new member and can’t post links.

Im stuck on the step where i paste the information. Im not sure what i paste. I have press save all information then it made a file and i dont even know how to access that file.

Find on your computer where you saved the file with the DXDiag information. Then double click that text file to open the file. Then copy and paste all that is written in the text file, to pastebin.

I am so sorry but your computer doesn’t meet the recommended requirements to run the game and game packs
You have a weaker processor than is required. You also have an integrated processor video card. It is using the same computer ram along with the game , origin, windows and other programs that you have on your computer. You also have less usable ram memory than is required to play the game. These things may be causing the issues and may be preventing you to open the game.
I am so sorry
If you have another computer it would be best to play on that if it is has higher computer specifications.
With added patches and packs, it adds more pressure on the computer to run the game.

If you are able to get the game to open, it would be best to try playing in laptop mode, and in windowed mode. Try lowering the ingame screen resolution in game options.
Close all other open windows in the desktop when playing the game and see if that helps.

I hope that you will be able to find a way to get your game to open. I am not sure if your computer specifications are preventing it from opening, but you may have some issues when playing the game. I hope though that you will be able to open the game and not have issues.

Actually i have a question. Do you think there is any possible way to fix the issues with my computer? such as, deleting useless files, or doing virus scans.

Doing a virus scan can be very helpful, for both running the computer and also the game. It would be good to do that.
Also, go to Windows Update, and check that your computer system is patched uptodate.

You are not bothering at all! You could try seeing if reinstalling the game helps. If you decide to do that, make a backup copy first of your Documents-Electronic Arts -Sims 4 folder and place it on an external drive or another part of your computer. This is just as a backup safeguard.

when i go to install it says, "all add-ons, bonuses, and files in the game installation directory will be removed" so would that delete my game packs, or will it be saved on my origin?

The files of the base game and packs will be removed from your computer when you uninstall the game, but your games will remain linked to your Origin account. After finishing uninstalling the game, click on the Games Library section, click on the sims 4 picture, then download/install it there. Then click the extra content and packs buttons that are half way down the page. They will shows you what game packs, stuff packs and eps you own. You can then download/install them there.
