Pretty much most creepy crawlies scares me, lol. Spiders can be interesting to watich and their various designs and colors can be quite unique. Like these dancing peacock male spiders:
Oooo purty colours. .
Still Scary as Plum when up close though
I melt when I begin to dream
Silhouette of touching colours
Sparking energy in azure skies
Beneath silvery pale moonlight
Painting with mesmerizing eyes
Blur between the silent screams
Memories take form, dancing to life
Mournful tears, haunting waking dreams
Saw this on fb and thought of my spider loving simmers.
That's one bed I would not be getting into, I don't care WHO else might be in it!
hahaha.. Even if it were your celeb crush?! .. Choice of having to deal with getting under Spider-covers to be with your Crush. Or running away screaming and losing out on the game of Woo :P .. Tough call to make!

It's kind of sad that I have to point out that anything I say is only just my opinion and may be a different one from someone else.
LOL @thatdoggonegirl7 There's just soooo much stuff for guinea pigs I had no idea that, that one picture I posted of a guinea pig would turn into so much LOL
I actually like most animals. Except for spiders. And a few types of birds, but that's beside the point here
Spiders are just... weird with their 8 legs and the eyes and how they move and everything. I think they're disgusting. Sorry, but that's my opinion. It would be fine if they had shorter, fewer legs and walked like dogs or something (and slowly please!!), but the way they are I think they're scary.
By the way, some birds can look pretty scary too. Here is one of those for example:
(I'm okay with the normal ones, but if they have red eyes then that makes them look like massacre birds)
That thing is a murderer. You can't convince me of anything else. Just look into its eyes!
Compared to that, SOME spiders are actually acceptable
Unless in mass hoards like baby spiders can get. I'm not afraid of spiders really. Inside they may get squished sadly because I don't need roommates or any bugs of sorts in my territory. Outside though, I praise them. They keep the hornets and flies off. Sometimes big ones like the orb weavers we get may need to be moved from being too close to the door, but on a further rail of the patio, no issue.
This might be too much information, so I'm sorry. But when I was 5 I was going to the bathroom and reached for the toilet paper. When the toilet paper roll turned, I saw this huge spider that had been sitting on the side facing the wall. I've been absolutely terrified of them ever since.
When I first bought my flat on the ground floor I had lots of large spiders (which no one had told me about when selling). I felt the flat a bit damp and was persuaded to put a damp proof course round my bit of the wall and it resulted in no more spiders as well as getting rid of the damp. It was worth every penny. If one gets in the bath I leave a towel over the side and hope it finds its' own way out and hides from me. They do get rid of other nasties and are very useful to us really.
I don't like them still but always try to catch them with the glass and card method and chuck them out but we don't have any black widow types in the uk yet. I hate the idea of squashing them. They are fascinating though and the more I see them on natural history shows on TV the less I fear them.
I'm absolutely terrified of spiders. It's not even a fear of what they could do to me. It's just their appearance. Something about anything with more than six legs (especially covered in insect hair) either creeps me out or scares the Bejeezus out of me.
I like spiders, as long as they are not crawling on me or my bed. I can understand peoples fright of them though, I'm scared of beetles and roaches even though they don't have a chance to bite you.
Although I do get scared of spiders when I can't tell what species they are.
The one type of spider I can't even look at is camel spider
I wont let them any where near Me or My babies, cause they can kill you in some places of the world, so I wont give them the chance to kill Me or anyone I care for, they will go to Spidey Heaven if they try to come Near Me, that is just how it will be.
I don't mind spiders at all so I usually offer to take them out of the vicinity of people who are arachnophobic. However I usually do have to chuckle a bit because I lived in the middle east for some time... I'm used to camel spiders, scorpions, centipedes and giant rats so the spiders found in europe and north america seem fairly harmless to me. I did have a phobia of bees for some time but I overcame it by taking photos of them - first from far away and then closer and closer untill I was sitting right infront of them and realized that they wouldn't harm me. So if you're scared of spiders this might be an option to deal with it. It's basically homemade exposure therapy.
CURRENTLY PLAYING: Forum mafias & Minecraft, mainly. Taking a break from the sims for a while!
About two weeks ago it was just me and my little brother at home. I was in my room when he suddenly started screaming that there's a huge spider on the floor. It was so small it took me 5 minutes to notice it.
Arachnophobia is actually one of the most common fears amongst humans, both young and old. I've read up on it in my spare time, so I think I can provide a very general explanation as to why so many people have this particular phobia.
As other people in this thread have already pointed out, a lot people feel afraid or repulsed by arachnids - as well as other bugs - because of how many legs and eyes they have. Additionally, the erratic and fast movements common to all spider species is usually another common fear factor. Combine these two things, and you have a creature that's seems very alien compared to a human. This sense of alienness leads to a feeling of dread and disgust in some people, even full-blown panic in rare cases, because of how different and strange spiders behave and look. One user earlier on in this thread stated how they thought anything with multiple legs was unnatural. While "unnatural" was probably not the best word to use in this context, it did highlight how creepy we as a species find these kinds of animals.
That was a very simplified version of how it works, but hopefully that explains the gist of it. If you'd like, you can read more about this by searching "IFLScience | Why Are We Afraid of Spiders?" (I would've posted a link, but new members can't do that.)
