Well, let's try to see if we can get some interest for something a little less fashion-y and more story-based! This is one of my favorite competitions and one that has had huge success in the past.
BE WARNED: This is a non-elimination competition!
While story-based could scare some of you into thinking you're just not that creative or scare some of you away thinking it's too time-consuming, I want to be the first to tell you -
STOP IT!
This is not a super intense competition and actually is quite simple to do and hasn't made previous competitors feel overwhelmed in the past! It's fun, it requires creativity, and I know you'll love it!
So...what the heck is this? Well, it's quite simply a story competition that will chronicle your model's trip through his/her senior year of high school at the prestigious Senior High! This school moves around a lot, but is always accepting of the most unique students.
We've been in Sunset Valley, we even have a campus in space! Well, this year, Senior High's newest campus opens up:
The Underworld Campus
This campus is for those who are less likely to strive for the limelight. The students at this campus are unique in a darker way. We require our students to be full of secrets, mystery, and even some special, perhaps creepy talents!
Both YA male and female models accepted!
No negativity of any kind is allowed - this includes belittling yourself
Editing is allowed and highly recommended
NO face-plastering or photo-skinning
You are allowed to draw your own clothing or objects
Only 2 extensions per person per cycle - yes I will be keeping track
Only 2 days MAX extensions are allowed - you must ask for one at
least 24 hours in advanced
Assignments last 7 days
Deadlines are set at Pacific Standard Times - adjust accordingly
Please don't drop - if you are too busy or think you will drop, DON'T SIGN UP!
Writing creative mini-stories is required for this competition
Have fun and be creative

FINAL ASSIGNMENT: DARK SECRET REVEALED
*THIS IS THE FINALS. YOUR STORY SHOULD COME TO SOME KIND OF END IN THIS ASSIGNMENT*
Okay students, this is a bittersweet moment for me. We are at the end of the school year and you have all earned your place in my heart - I'll miss you all, but I'm excited to see what's in store for your futures!
Your final assignment is pretty open-ended, but some kind of dark secret or revelation must be revealed in this final chapter. You can choose how to end this, how to show us what's revealed, just be creative and give us an ending that's truly spectacular!
Required Tasks:
1. Create a fun and creative final photo.
2. Tells about the event in a short creative mini-story.
3. Be sure to include a special creepy fact that sets you apart.
4. No borders are necessary on your image.

DEADLINE: JUNE 24TH @ 9PM PST
How will you earn the grades? Well, take a look at our Dean's rubric below to see how to impress us and how grading will work!
Scoring Rubric
Creep Factor: /5
Story Creativity: /10
Story Cohesion: /10
Image/Story Cohesion: /10
Overall Image Appeal: /10

What does all that mean?
Creep Factor: When you signed up, you chose something creepy, dark, mysterious, dangerous, etc. about your model. Show that in your image and you'll get points!
Story Creativity: Did you put real thought into your mini-story or does it simply fall flat?
Story Cohesion: Each new assignment is meant to build from the previous one. Does your story follow the line you set up in the previous assignment or is it totally random?
Image/Story Cohesion: Does what you wrote about show up in your image or are they two separate entities?
Overall Image Appeal: Does your image look striking, intriguing, or wowing or is it really rather dull, uncreative and boring? Quality also factors into this category.
Dean's Personal Taste: Each Dean has a unique taste for what you submit. You want to impress each one? It might be difficult to do.
You will be given a letter grade based off of your final score. Extra credit points can boost you from a lower grade to a higher grade. The letter grades will be what determines your running totals. See the scale and score breakdown below for more info.

FIRST, SOME WORDS FROM YOUR DEAN:
I have to say that I'm so very sad to see this competition end! I always love story-based competitions because I get so attached to your models, but hate them...because I get so attached to your models.
I think you all did beautifully and I thank you all for sticking through to the very end! You are so creative and I really hope to see you all in future story-based competitions I host!
Thank you to Maggie for being an excellent, helpful, and amazing judge! I appreciate you!
Now, scores were tight and very close! Good job everyone![/b]

Wow, Poida…this was done so beautifully. You used a clichéd idea of an insane asylum, but you went about it in such a way that it didn’t feel clichéd at all. This was beautifully, beautifully done. I’m so sad for Aralyn and I hope she either finds happiness in her delusion or comes out of it stronger!

This was my personal favorite! I’ve grown real attached to everyones’ characters, but especially with Aaralyn. Her life, and story, and time at school seemed so real, I was genuinely saddened by this end to the story. Don’t get me wrong, it was good. Too good, in fact you got my only perfect score for this finale. Your detail in your story was phenomenal, and your photo, I couldn’t have asked for more. It’s perfect!
SECOND PLACE

Well, that was an interesting turn of events. Luna is adorable still – even with her checkered past. I like that you brought her father into the picture and I think the crazy mom/ghost stepdad were great additions as well. I’m sorry Luna was expelled! That’s no fun! But you did amazingly. Great work!

Oh Luna, I love her determination to find out the truth. I love how you ended this. This chapter in Luna’s life is over and she’s ready to move on. Too bad this comp is over, because I could read your stories forever! I really liked your photo! Your set was great, all the elements were there that needed to be, and her pose is great! No complaints! This is what I expected for a finale!
THIRD PLACE - TIE

I liked the interesting facts that cleared up some confusion. I liked that Marwolaeth is connected to death and all things dead – but it makes me sad too. Does Iestyn like her for real or just because he’s dead? Does Stevie really even like her as a friend (or more) or does she only feel that way because she’s a ghost? It’s kind of sad. Marwolaeth will never know who to trust for real! But, I thought it was a good wrap up, however…you left us with a cliffhanger and with this being the finale I was like…wait…NOOOO lol
Creep Factor: 4/5

Wow! So much ending here! I was happy to hear everyone tied together, but I couldn’t help feeling like I needed to know just a bit more. Good to hear Lestyn is still around, and weird to see him acting so shy. Your photo was ok, but I think a slightly different setting would have had more WOW factor. Good, but is it finale good?
NINI & VIX - 80 points

Well, the photo you created was beautiful. It was probably your best and most creative photo yet. Your story was also very nice, but ended with a very abrupt cliffhanger…why had Vix’s brother become so evil? Is she on the same path as him? Man, I’m curious now!!

Exciting! I feel like your story ended awfully abruptly. Your brother came in, there was a scuffle, you won. I feel like there should have been a bit more. But that’s good, right? Making me want to know more, read more? I think your photo was awesome though, I love all the color, even for a nighttime photo! This really had that Finale ending wow factor I was looking for!!
FOURTH PLACE

This was a sweet ending to Mary’s story. I liked seeing her grow and come to terms with who she is and who she was. It was great to have her visiting Eliza’s grave. The photo wasn’t particularly exciting, but overall, you did a great job ending her story. Nicely done!

I love your ending to Mary’s story, and her conclusion of her misery. I loved how you added us, the Deans, in there as well! I’m glad to see a happy for Mary! I liked your photo, although, for such a good feeling in the end, I would have liked to see that incorporated into the photo! Great read!
FIFTH PLACE
ALEXA & TRISTA - 72 points

Image/Story Cohesion: 9/10
Overall Image Appeal: 9/10

This was an interesting way to end Trista’s story. It seems it’s only just beginning for her. It was interesting to have her be diagnosed with something other than “uncontrollable magic ability” – but overall, the final assignment should really wow us. It should show your growth and progress as a story-teller and photographer. The photo was excellent. It was crisp, clear, creative, and intriguing. That growth was apparent. The story was written well, and showed a tad growth compared to your very first assignment, but it just didn’t wow me. Good work throughout the competition though!
Creep Factor: 4/5
Story Creativity: 7/10
Story Cohesion: 8/10
Image/Story Cohesion: 8/10
Overall Image Appeal: 9/10
Dean's Personal Taste: 4/5
Total: 40/50
Wow! I didn’t expect Trista to have such a revelation! I’m happy for her finding out what her true abilities are and how to cope and control them! I feel you had a reasonable ending, and was detailed enough. I like your photo, you represented your story and had a good set. However this being the finale, I expected more something dramatic, ‘wow’ ing. Love your use of the outfit ~wink~

I gotcha down, Vid. It shouldn't be too bad you know I can be pretty laid back!
I'd absolutely love to have you Cyan. I hope you can find the time!!
Of course Socal! I loved your model!!
Oh my gosh, Chan, you will find the time, you will, you will! lol I'd love to have you!
They are hidden in the mist and in the silver rain...
Wow, that word is censored? And here I thought this forum was less zealous than the old one
@Cyan: YES!
@Poida: OOOh, join deary! Join! Yes...I know...the "plum" censor has popped up quite a bit lately.
One question. Do we pick personality types like last cycle? Like geek, mean girl, goth, etc. ? I don't see it in the app, so I was wondering.

It's almost like you're trying to tempt me to take a bite of an apple (or become one with the apple) I'll think about it
I do have a question (cue Beech groaning) What do you mean by underworld? Are we talking dark fantasy world filled with unusual characters like demons, werewolves, trolls, etc who somehow live together perfectly fine (cause, yaknow, magic) or more of a normal human world with a dark and seedy underbelly that has strange mysteries going on that most aren't aware of? Or maybe neither of them? I do have an idea in my head of something I would like to do, but it would only work if it turns out I'm barking up the right tree. If not, I can probably work something else out...
Good grief, I well and truly rambled on.
I was considering it a ton!! But no inspiration or creativity has popped up yet >_<! If I don't get a spark of inspiration soon, I'll end up lurking this comp like crazy lol XD
I was thinking that either would work. Kind of like a school that allows fantasy creatures as well as humans commingling together. The humans could have a seriously dark side and their classmate might be a half-dragon half-unicorn...lol I like the idea of the mix of both. I think the assignments could work for either theme.
No worries but you are definitely welcome!
