Download error on Origin

So the Sims 4 became available on Mac today and I had been trying to download the game on Origin since hours ago but all attempts failed. I got a "Download Error" message every time. Somebody's got any ideas what happened? Too many people downloading and overwhelming the server? I tried to restart, relog in and made sure I was not logged in on both the PC and Mac, but nothing worked so far.

Some Origin features are temporarily unavailable due to technical difficulties.
This means you're currently unable to:
Change your profile data and user settings.
Make purchases, add items to your shopping cart, or redeem new codes.
Recent purchases may not yet be visible in your My Games library.
Download from your My Games library.
We're working to resolve all these issues as quickly as possible. Stay tuned for updates.

EXACTLY! I waited forever for the Mac release and now I have to wait again. :(
