Hi! Just wanna know whether sims 4 will work on my mac or not

OS X Yosemite
Macbook Retina 12-inch early 2015
1.1 GHz intel core M
8GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 5300 1536 MB

Thanks~

Maybe but the new MacBooks really aren't designed for gaming. The processor and graphics just aren't powerful enough. Plus it has no fan and gaming produces heat.

Do so at your own risk. You may not damage the Mac initially but long term you'll end up frying it.

I had an older Macintosh, R.I.P Mac. I had decided that the Sims 3 started to run a little crumby, so I had gotten a levnovo computer (Windows 10)with a GEFORCE GTX Graphics card, and an Intel Core i7, and that works awesome with the Sims 4.

@BluebellFlora I'm not sure because it's on eBay but I want to buy it if it will run the sims. (I'm sorry that I don't know all of the information)

Can you post a link? If you can't post links just put a space in the link address somewhere.

If you put in the address bit in front it should work

Seems a bit odd:
• It has one processor, an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66Ghz, which is dual core, not 2x 2.66Ghz processors as they state.
• "Genuine UK Mains Charger and Battery included" why would it have a battery? It's not a laptop.
• They call OS X Yosemite an iOS which any knowledgable Apple seller would never do.
• "Latest fast 4 X USB connection". Nope, those are old USB 2.0 connections. Macs ship with USB 3.0 now.
• "Not compatible with latest iOS" that's accurate so not very helpful if you're running the latest iOS on an iPhone/iPad/iPod

I wouldn't touch this personally.

It's an early 2009 model with NVIDIA 9400M graphics which isn't supported by TS4. The processor just about meets the minimum requirements:

Minimum OS – Mac OS X Lion (10.7.5)
CPU – Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz or better
RAM – At least 4Gb RAM
Hard Drive – At least 10Gb of free space with at least 1Gb additional space for custom content
Video – NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT, ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro or better. Video RAM (VRAM) of 256 MB or better
Input – Keyboard and Mouse
Online Requirements: Internet Connection required for product activation

Ok thank you.
I was looking for a low budget (about £350) laptop/computer to play the sims and I saw it and thought it looked good but I guess I will have to keep looking, thanks for the help though! :)

I'm looking for a new Mac at the moment, and I want to make sure I can run Sims 3 & 4 on it at medium/high settings. I didn't know which specs to give, so I just posted the summary from the apple website.

13-inch MacBook Pro
2.9GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz.
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 - SDRAM -- 2x4GB 1TB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm.

That's what it says and I'm not very good with computers, if I need a better one just tell me.

TS3 won't run well at all. It is not natively written for OS X and is a massive resource hog on a Mac. You may be able to play it on low settings. TS4 will run but probably not on high depending on how many EPs/SPs/GPs you add in. Ideally you want the high spec. 15" MacBook Pro as it is the only Mac laptop that has dedicated graphics. You will struggle to get TS3 to work though due to the graphics cards not being supported at all in the game.

A cheaper option would be to get an iMac with dedicated graphics.

This thread is where users compare their game settings. You could make an informative decision based on their experiences - http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/816319/graphics-performance-in-os-x-we-need-your-info/p1

Currently considering getting TS4. I've never played a game on my Macbook Air 9early 2014) before so I'm not too sure on getting it. My specs are:

1.4 GHz Intel Core i5
4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

I'm also running on OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.5

You may be able to play on low/medium settings but your Mac will struggle as your saves get bigger and you add more EPs/SPs/GPs.

My mac meets all the requirements, but there's one I'm not sure about.
It says to have Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz Processor or better
My mac processor is 2Ghz Intel core 2 duo

Will this cause minor or major issues??

The minimum requirement is a 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, yours is 2.0Ghz so you don't meet the minimum requirements. The game will not run.

Hi! If I get the MacBook Air and upgrade it – 2.2GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz and 8GB RAM – will the Sims 4 (or 3) run ok? I don't need it to be as smooth as possible, but reasonable...

Hello... I have been reading through a lot of these posts, and while some of them are similar to mine, I have not seen my exact processor yet, so I thought I would ask. I have a 27 inch iMac that will run the game no problem, but I typically like to run it on my MacBookPro as well. At least that is what I have done with all other versions of the game. The Sims 3 seemed to be pushing the limits of my laptop, so I am guessing The Sims 4 is going to kill it. I am contemplating updating some of the components of my laptop soon anyway, but in the meantime, here is what I have.

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011)
2 GHz Intel Core i7
4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB and AMD Radeon HD 6490M 256 MB
Currently running Yosemite 10.10.5, but will be upgrading to El Capitan probably this weekend

EDIT - Just noticed that the recommended specs say Core i5 or better, so I am probably okay there. And I am planning on upgrading the RAM possibly later today to be 16 GB - even though Apple says 8 GB is the max, I know a lot of people with 16, so I am going to go for that.
