Thank you! Does anyone else have some safe sites to recommend? Especially regarding clothing for child, toddler and adults. Also, are there any trustworthy sites with decoration objects etc. perhaps ? :) There is so so much to choose from :\

@Simasaurus,Thank you! I have looked around at modthesims, but was a bit disappointed with the selections so I have not registered yet. Are there more to choose from if I register? Or is it the same?

The only custom content I really get is from ModTheSims. I have not had a problem with any content or mods I have gotten there, though you do have to make sure that the content has been updated for the latest patch.

What you see is what you get there. A lot of the stuff I find comes from tumblr. I posted the link on the first page. I have not gotten bad CC from there but it's still possible just like anywhere else. In the same post I also linked how to organize (if you install by package). All of my CC is in package form and organized so I know exactly where it is when I need to remove it.

Ok so I might be a little late but I do warn you of how harmful cc can be. I had just discovered it and and Immediately started trying to download it. The only sight I could figure out was "the sims recourses" however very bad idea. After about 20 downloads my computer glitched out turned blue and shut down. When it turned back on I had this things called "pc accelerator" appear saying it was scanning my computer for viruses. Me knowing my family wouldn't spend so much money on virus protection for that computer, I knew something was wrong. Soon my whole computer was corrupted and it installed a weird browser and many other things. Turns out it was a Trojan. One of the worst kind of spyware . It's very malicious and can destroy files, collect personal things like banking information, and open a back door for hackers to gain access to your computer. Luckily we hadn't had any important stuff on the computer. Also very fortunately for me my brother has a history with computers and 6 hours later fixed the computer, if it wasn't for that my computer would either be broken or my parents would have to pay lots of money to get it cleaned. Ever since that one bad experience I haven't used any cc. Be carful when downloading.

Hi, also speaking about CC, I like too items from http://www.parsimonious.org/sims3.html .... there is a little bit off everything and I have all items from this page in my game ... I'm not fan of clothing, but they are having something too.
Going on various sites for CC you need just be aware what is correct link - when you click on some malicious adds, you can get virusses. Check up still in yours browser URL bar, what is written there - web adress shoud begin still with known site,
example: now I see ... forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/792208/can-i-trust-cc-content-recommendations-of-safe-sites/p2#latest, it's good .. but when it will begin example with: "awful page.txt/forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/792208/can-i-trust-cc-content-recommendations-of-safe-sites/p2#latest" then you aren't on right site, but something malicious.

Internet is becoming still more dangerous - my self, however my payed Kasperski antivirus runs on my PC without interruption, I have had issues now with bad things in my PC too - and I'm still scanning all downloaded content still with antivirus, before I use it. My PC was opening still inapropriate popups and I was able to close it only with task manager of Windows. When it opened, when I was surfing on MTS and don't clicked anything - a new sheet with adult photo of woman which wanted to trade with me adult photos, I've understood, that something is very wrong.
I've made Googlesearch and it leaded me to download trial of malwarebytes Antimalware and it revealed threads shipped with Java updates (Oracle) - I've had remains of Yahoo Search in my PC. I'm still unticking everything optional, when installing things:
"Ask Toolbar has been widely bundled with the installer for Oracle Java SE and has been criticized for being malware as users had to remember to manually deselect the toolbar installation during a Java installation." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Browser_hijacking)
Also I've had this issue with Yahoo toolbar (http://www.scoopnest.com/user/stshank/636886926398758912)
Also it wasn't enough - when I've rebooted PC and continued my Google surfing - I've got bad popups again. I've made research and downloaded AdwCleaner from MalwareBytes - I'm still aware to download things direcly from authors site. It revealed another 7 threads: 6 related on YahooSearch, 7th related on Mozilla updater .. it revealed file jid1-16aeif9OQIRKxA@jetpack.xpi : "Update attack:
An innocent looking and clean extension can deliberately place a malicious update at its predefined update URL.
This will then be downloaded and prompted for installation the next time the browser checks for updates, which
by default is once a day." (https://www.symantec.com/content/dam/symantec/docs/security-center/white-papers/secruity-response-firefox-and-malware-09-en.pdf) - I've allowed to put in quarantine and after rebooting PC, no more ugly popups. It means, you can get bad things too from instruments used for CC research.
And not speaking about CC hosted on AddFly or on Mediafire links - with the last named Google opens still new window with usually bad advertisement and best way to do is close it before it fully loads - unless I won't use Task Manager again for close it (but not tested again after cleaned my PC).

For having trustable game content - search on internet tutorials about converting Sims3Packs in packages - it should reveal additional (frequently bad content) included in Sims3Packs - I'm never installing Sims3Packs from not trustable authors in my game - I'm converting all in packages at first, and then put in my Mods/Packages/Test folder. If this works, I'll move it in another folder - I have my Mods folder organized by authors of CC in game.

Sorry for a long post - but I think, that someone can learn from my errors. :flushed:

Concerning the last two posts, most disasters can be avoided with AdBlock always on and with selectively disabling plugins. It's unsafe to be on Internet without an ad blocker, that's how you catch the worst things. Ad blockers are just as important for your protection as antiviruses are.

You have right, @Candyd - but even AdBlocker (installed together with Kasperski by tech-guy, who brought that PC at ours home) don't saved my another PC (used by children) from "AmazonAssistant" (https://superuser.com/questions/1060319/how-to-remove-amazon-assistant-that-was-installed-by-java-installer) shipped !again! with Java Updates and another 330 threads revealed by malwarebytes software. And mine threads were coming from official Oracle update (still downloaded only from author's site).
But I'll install add-blocker too, I think, at least for Mediafire.
Fortunatelly browsers are stopping to support Java - only now I understand, why.

The only thing I have saw on this board that worries my head is related to custard. It's cc magic. These are bad.

Not entirely sure what you are trying to say here, sorry. Custard is kind of dated now, but it's still a useful tool for what it can do. We can't always believe its reports as there will be false positives, and it will miss content that it cannot determine is faulty, but it still catches many problems that the player wouldn't otherwise have known about.

CCMagic is a content organizational tool that takes over the loading and structure of CC with its own mechanisms. Many of us unfortunately find it more cumbersome to use than helpful, but it still has a loyal following. It does have the capacity to prevent all CC from working if it's not used properly, so making a backup copy of one's user game folder in Documents before using it would be a very good idea so that it's easy to undo everything. On Patch 1.69, CCMagic can no longer be used to startup the game because of the required Origin tie-in, but the rest of it still works.

These tools are what they are, helpful to many. Neither one of them should be considered "bad."

OMG the EXACT same thing happened to mine!Mines downloaded a browser called ‘chromium’.Also, one of my normal browsers doesn’t work any more because it is coming up a Microsoft help service and pop ups saying someone is trying to steal my banking details.I don’t use that any more though. Also my sims 3 launcher is coming up with a script error and in game my babies have massive black lines coming out of them.
